“Priceless!”

The food was delicious, especally the whole fish, and the place had a lovely ambience-- but most memorable was the kindness of the lady owner. A problem with the credit card meant we seriously thought we might have to wash dishes! But she was so kind. With no hesitation she Invited us to pay tomorrow if we liked. Her attitude really made it a wonderful night where we all marvelled about 'the kindness of strangers'. And so calm and serene about it - we felt like we were in the 'presence of the Buddha'! We sorted the payment out in the end and the story has been told many times. The Golden Bell has been recommended by us to anyone we know going to Nelson. An unforgettable night!

“Great thai”

Stopped in before the USA v Italy match for an early dinner. The two salads-chicken lard and another chicken salad with vermicelli were fresh and clean tasting. Spicy but the flavors came through the heat. Service was outstanding given that the restaurant was completely full at 5:30 on a Tuesday afternoon. the waitress conceded they thought it would be a slow evening with everyone at the match.

I love this restaurant. The food is fresh, delicious and the staff are very good. It is the kind of food that taste so good, you fantasize about it days later....and you can hardly wait to go back. The prices are reasonable, especially lunch where a good size main is $10-15.
