We stayed 6 nights. We had a fantastic time. The accomodations (villas) are spread throughout the extensive property, with views across the harbour - wading birds. We had a quail family visit us each morning and evening, feeding on our lawn and only a few meters from us in our lounge. Accomodation is excellent, and the whole atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. Special breakfasts preceeded our outings to the greater Nelson region. Daniel was a courteous and attentive host, and with his mother Margaret as source of much local information. We will definitely return, and would recommend it to others unreservedly.

We ended our two week tour of the south island with four nights at Bronte and couldn't have asked for a better end to our holiday. Despite three days of rain we, with our three young children, had a wonderful time in the luxury of Te Koi. On arrival Daniel warmly welcomed us and showed us round the beautifully decorated cottage, which included a generously stocked fridge and pantry. The children ran into the garden and jumped in the kayaks. The weather was dreadful but Daniel gave useful advice on things to do and places to go, and when not venturing out we thoroughly enjoyed hanging out at 'home'. We stayed at Bronte Country Estate as part of our wonderful 3 week tour of the South Island and this was, without a doubt, the most memorable place we stayed.

A very warm welcome from Daniel as we arrived and we were shown to our fantastic suite overlooking the estuary. The room was very stylishly decorated and exceptionally clean with great facilities in the small kitchen.

Fabulous touches like the decanter of sherry and the complimentary local beer and sparkling wine chilling in the fridge and of course the scrumptious home made cookies replenished every morning, a great touch.

Daniel was the perfect host, we arrived late afternoon and he had already made a provisional booking for dinner for us at the Apple Shed (great, fun, informal place to eat )
The breakfasts were wonderful; home cooked local produce in the great surroundings of the Homestead. I would recommend this property to anyone visiting the South Island, it is one of the best properties I have stayed in.

On our fourth visit to Bronte,we were greeted warmly by Daniel, the manager,and taken to our villa set on the serene estuary.Every thing was perfect..every detail attended to....we have always chosen to stay in this beautiful sanctuary as a stopover before we begin our flyfishing journey thru New Zealand.We were shown the new two bedroom Te Koi...and wow...we wished we were travelling with friends so we could make use of this beautiful self contained home ..also on the estuary.No visit to the South Island would be complete without a visit to Bronte.
