The lady who manages these apartments is extremely friendly and willing to assist with any questions etc. The fully self contained apartments are located in a great location. They are mostly rented to students with others rented to the public. Wouldn't hesitate in staying again and great value for money.

I stumbled across this accommodation on Wotif and was impressed with the price enough to check it out. This appears to be accommodation for students mainly but
i didnt find that a problem. The room was small, had everything i needed, was clean, the service great, the location very close to town (about a 5 minute walk if you wandered through the campus), I didnt have any noise problems re the students, it appears to be quite new. I really appreciated being given the coins and the wash powder for the laundry which was conveniently located right next to my room, I'm not sure if that is the norm but it was an unexpected bonus i thought since you normally expect to pay extra to do your laundry. Shower lovely, bed comfortable. Since I am mainly travelling the south island and staying in backpacker hostels, i thought this was a nice step up (when you just feel like having your own space!!!) without having to pay a fortune - basically its a mini hotel, but when i say mini, i dont mean i ever felt crammed! There was enough room for your needs. I would definitely stay here again. Oh i even ran into the cleaner up the street (although i actually think she was the owner of the complex) and she was very helpful because I was trying to locate the post office!

This is an alternative to hostel but much nicer and cleaner. It is spotless clean, new and spacious. The apartment has own fully equipped kitchen with fridge and microwave, dining area, TV, bathroom and wireless internet. About 5 min walk to town center. Coin laundry is available. Manager Jacqui is super nice, she makes sure your stay is comfortable. It is cheap too if you stay together with friends. We paid NZ$35 pp for 4 of us and we can cook our own meal. Nelson is a small town, but has its own charm, we went to center of NZ a nice walk up the hill, Queen garden is beautiful, and Abel Tasman is nearby, most tour buses pick you up a short walk from Nikau apartment.
