“A Great, friendly B&B in a good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 December 2011

We stayed here for two nights in December 2011.
Austin and Jay provide a very warm, welcoming atmosphere in their restored historical house – a splendid, lovely old building with plenty of space and a lovely garden.
We were greeted with the offer of a cup of tea or coffee and some delicious home made cake.

Our room – called Nappa – had an en-suite bathroom down a short flight of stairs.
The room and bed were comfortable, the view over the rear gardens delightful, the shower excellent.

Breakfasts in the dining room, freshly prepared by Austin and Jay were absolutely delicious – plenty enough to set us up for a busy day sightseeing. Austin is a dab hand at making coffee on his trusty machine – his flat white is so good it should be patented.

Very warm welcome from Jay and Austin. Lovely rooms and beds and most enjoyable breakfasts too. Great assistance when choosing the best places to visit. NZ hosting at its best. Wallaces of Hamilton.

“Wonderful stay in Oamaru”

Oamaru Creek is a beautiful place to stay in Oamaru.
Matching perfectly the atmosphere of the city, the house is an elegant old building, restored with a lot of taste. We really felt warm and comfortable there.
Our room was huge and the bathroom very cozy.
Jay and Austen feed us with a perfect breakfast and delicious coffee. They were very welcoming and friendly.
We will come back as soon as we can !

“My kind of wonderful.”

Simply gorgeous. It's a 100+ year old craftsman, lovingly restored and furnished by Jay and Austen. Like all NZ homes, you have to huddle by a heat source in your scarf and sweater to stay warm in winter, yet every room feels invitingly cozy. Austen lent us binoculars and explained where to find Yellow Eyed Penguins-- great experience! Jay invited us to the TV room in the evening, where the fire from the dining room kept us warm while we sent emails home. Wonderful hospitality. The en suite bath is one of the largest (and definitely the prettiest!) we've had in NZ.
