Externally , looks like hundreds of other motels, however, Studios are roomy clean, well equipped whilst location ,though on main street ( set well back ) is very handy to central Oamaru. Managers very " hands on" people, who once met, would convince you to stay with them on any subsequent visits. Very good value so do not hesitate to visit. If pillows not right for you,Karen will offer your choice.
Given good advice on Restaurants ,with our happy choice being Star & Garter or similiar name near waterfront Victorian precinct. (Oldest in Oamaru)

We had a two-bedroom unit. It was satisfactory but the place is getting old - e.g. the shower head could not be adjusted to go high enough. Internet access was unreliable. The owner was very friendly.

We stayed in this very nice town for two days and we had a very good stay with Ken and Karen White. They were so friendly and the price for the rooms were great.
The rooms were clean and well equipped.
If , or probably when, we come back to New Zealand we will come back to this motel.

As others have said, an old school motel, but well kept, clean and comfortable. It's on the main road, but set well back, so it's quiet, and the heavy curtains keep the rooms dark at night. It's well placed for the Victorian precinct, but you'd best take the car to the penguins.

We didn't try the breakfast, because the Whitestone cheese factory is one block away, and the cafe is a great place for a cheesy snack.

Definitely recommendable for a night or two.
