“A Little Oasis”

We really enjoyed our stay in the Eco-Lodge/Motel which is set in a subtropical garden and very convenient for touring the area and taking a trip to Fraser Island. Although not located along the seafront it didn't take long to drive there for the shops and restaurants. The room was comfortable and spacious and the swimming pool a must in the summer months. Rob was very friendly and helpful. The place to stay if you are in the area - and one we will always recommend to our family and friends.

Room Tip: A room away from the road would be quieter.

“Tranquil Setting”

Emeraldene Inn & Eco Lodge is set amidst some beautiful well maintained gardens, that has a tropical feel....that is obviously home to lots of beautiful birds.

We stopped over for 2 nights, on our way back home to Brisbane and incorporated a day trip to Fraser Island - which makes Emeraldene Inn ideal - as its central to everything, Fraser Island, shops etc

The room was comfortable, very clean and tidy and veranda overlooking green/lush pretty gardens. There is also a BBQ facilities and picnic area, big 12 metre swimming pool on the grounds.

Rob was very friendly and helpful from booking the accommodation, to greeting us...and a wealth of information on sites/attractions of Hervey Bay - so you get the most of your experience on what ever tour you decide to do - infact Rob has a one stop shop there! from booking attactions to accommodation, he has it covered.

We decided to do a Hummer Tour of Fraser Island and wasnt disappointed, picked up and dropped off..... (attached a few pics of Fraser Island - just ask Rob about different tours etc)

All in all, loved the stay and will be back!

Chris and Sylvia

Hi Chris and Sylvia,

Thanks for your great comments. I am so glad you enjoyed your stay with us and that you got to experience Fraser with one of the best tours available. Thanks for sharing some great pics with us as well!

It was a pleasure having you with us, and I hope we get to see you again in the future! (Maybe to see the whales or Lady Elliot?!)

Best regards,

Rob

“Great for Fraser Island Tour”

Stayed here for 2 nights whilst experience a Fraser Island tour. So we stayed the night before and after.

We had a friendly welcome on arrival and had been upgraded. This was an added bonus as it was my birthday whilst staying there. The room was really nicely presented, clean and tidy.

I can’t say that we noticed the noise, but we arrived fairly late, was out the following day and left fairly early the following morning as we had to be on the road.

This was perfect for our needs but the negative is that the location isn't great as the person driving cannot drink and there are no restaurants/bars close by.

Hi Sunworshippers!

Thanks for your review, and also for spending your birthday with us!

Great that you have posted pics of our Superior Rooms as well, and I appreciate your comments about our clean, tidy and nicely presented rooms.

A few tips for eating out - we have 6 restaurants that will deliver directly to our rooms if guests wish to order in. Another great idea if you are visiting Fraser Island on either the 1 or 2 day tours is when you take the free transfer on your return from the tour, get them to drop you at the Boat Club ... you can then have dinner and a few drinks and catch the Boat Club courtesy shuttle back to the Emeraldene free of charge (this also works well with the afternoon whale watch trips). On Friday and Saturday nights the Bayswater Hotel also runs a courtesy shuttle (pick up and drop off), and the RSL in town has an hourly courtesy shuttle every night of the week.

We also have a great value Limo service in town which is a fixed price $15 to any local destination - good value when you consider "town" is 16kms from 1 end to the other!

Cheers,

Rob

“A good stop-over to see Fraiser Island”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2011

This is a good motel that is conveniently located for the ferry to Fraser Island. The check-in was very friendly, while the rooms are average, clean but a bit run-down. We have stayed for 1 night in August (winter) so could not take advantage of the pool or BBQ

Hi Ilya,

Thank-you for your review and your comments about our cleanliness and customer service.

The Emeraldene Inn was built in the year 2000 and had a total internal refit under present owners in 2007. We operate a constant maintenance and upgrade strategy. Our Superior Rooms were totally renovated only 12 months ago, we replace our beds every 3 years with top of the line Sealy Commercial beds, and our fittings and fixtures are upgraded constantly to maintain a modern and comfortable atmosphere. As a part of this constant maintenance strategy, for example, we last year replaced all our TVs with flat screen digital LCDs.

We pride ourselves on providing the cleanest and most comfortable rooms in the region whilst also offering the best in service and value.

I notice that you arrived after dark and departed very early for Fraser Island and staying only the 1 night. We would love to see you again in the future where you can stay a little longer and experience the service and comfort we are renowned for.

Best regards,

Rob

“Great for access to Fraser Island and others...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2011

We stayed for a week whilst in the middle of a trip down the east coast and very much enjoyed it. Rob was great, very friendly and helpful and we spent two great days on Fraser Island on a tour organised on our arrival. The room was just what we needed and the BBQ/pool area was great. It was a shame that there was building work going on next door whilst we were there but it was obviously outside of their control and we didn't feel it impacted negatively on our stay.

Noise from the main road wasn't a problem for us, and as for distance the main supermarkets & shops could be reached within 30 mins walk which we all did on numerous occasions. It would be easier with a hire car however! Rob was great in explaining the variety of places that offer shuttle bus services (although we never got around to using them) and the takeaways that delivered & we had an excellent chinese on one night.

Access to wifi was very useful in planning the onward sections of our journey, however it was a shame that it required additional payment and therefore a login that meant only one device could access at a time. We coped fine and the room was such good value that even with the (small) additional fee it was still cheaper than a lot of the places we stayed.

In summary, we would definitely recommend the Emeraldene Inn. We didn't get much chance to explore the expanse of Hervey Bay itself being mainly pedestrian - the bits we did see we weren't too impressed with, but Fraser Island was fantastic, and the other activities and places to visit nearby mean we will hopefully be back in future.

Hi SiuLoong,

Thanks for your great review. So glad you had a good time with us, and also had an awesome experience on Fraser. I hope you also got to experience the whales given you were here in September. As you mentioned - lots to see and do, so would be great to see you again some time! Maybe we can send you across to Lady Elliot to experience the Reef.

Re the internet for the benefit of all travellers - the reason there is a small charge and a special login issued for each user is that we have quite a sophisticated system which issues a secure and encrypted (different) login and access for every user. This means that guests can confidently do banking, bookings and online payments without risk. This is something some travellers are unaware of - if you are given free internet access and everyone has the same code, chances are it is not an encrypted network, and you may be at risk when using these open networks for banking and credit card transactions.

Cheers,

Rob
