“Fantastic place to stay”

We stayed at this motel for the first night of our honeymoon. Absolutely fantastic. Lovely lovely owners who went out of their way to make you comfortable and explain how everything worked etc. Also pointed us to a few great places to eat which was really appreciated. Rooms were spacious and clean and the spa bath is heaven!Beautiful views from our room and an easy walk into town. Would highly recommend this motel to anyone.

“travelling with bub”

We really enjoyed our stay at the Anchor Inn, and it was mostly because the hosts were very nice people and the place was super clean. Our studio was not one of the sought after views rooms, but that came as a plus as it was quiet, very spacious and care was given to put up a cot with adequate blankets for our baby. This was an exception as we had been travelling for a number of weeks at this point, up to our tenth motel, and this was the first place where I felt our child's sleeping need was properly catered for.

“Does what it says on the tin.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

This is a very clean and comfortable place to stay overlooking the sea in Kaikoura, Great facilities, excellent parking, guest laundry, wifi and very pleasant friendly staff complete the picture.

Our purpose for staying in Kaikoura was to to take the Dolphin Encounter trip - the office for this is just along the street from the Anchor Inn. If you have the time this is an excellent, professional and value for money 3 hour (approx) boat trip. Recommended.

“2 bedroom unit good for families”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

We stayed here on the way back to Wellington after our Christmas holiday in the South Island.

We had a water facing two bedroom unit. Bedrooms are upstairs, lounge/dining/kitchen area downstairs with bathroom and separate toilet.

Lots of space, lovely views. Good facilities - recycling point, laundry, outside washing line, car parking directly outside of unit.

A lovely place to complete our holiday.

“Doubled-glazed vista”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

A clean and comfortable 2-bedroom unit, a good place to stop for one night on our way north. Craig was helpful in a variety of ways. We bought dinner across the road at the freshly cooked fish van. Glorious vista comprising the ocean and the mountains.
