We made this stopover after driving from Nelson before going back to Christchurch. The place is very well maintained, the room was clean and comfortable. Very nice view of the alps from the backyard and from the roadside. Within walking distance to grocery shopping. Owners are very friendly and helpful. Beautiful scenery along the esplanade not far away. Owners were enhancing the place. We did have a good stay and rested well before heading home.

Very Friendly hosts and situated off the main road into Kaikoura from Blenheim. The unit was very clean and well appointed at a reasonable price.

“Horrible cleaniness go at your own risk”
we went to south island in new zealand and stayed at 9 different motels and farm stays. this was the worst of all. I am still carrying the bites and check the photograph out of the three mosquito / bed bug bites that I got in that motel. I will never forgive them for having such a bad standard of sanitation that my four year old son is still carrying those bites as well.
The rooms are facing the sun so it gets terribly hot and if you leave the windows open more mosquitoes fly in. the carpets have never been cleaned.
the only positive is that it is next to a shopping area for food, etc. but i guess whats the point since most people drive in any case.
wasnt a great idea saving money to stay in this place.

After receivng this review we have past New Zealand Qualmark 3 plus rating and we received full marks for cleaness in all units.
On the 9 April 2011 we have had Pro Tek Systems in to inspect our complex for Bed Bugs and they have NOT found anything. They used there K9 inspection team (DOGS) and also a manual inspection. If needed we can provide a written inspection report from them. We are working towards covering all beds with Protect-A-Bed Bug Lock and will be continuing to have the Pro Tek Team in to inspect us. I hope this is of help to fuure guest.

“Excellent place to stay-definately recommend”

We enjoyed our stay and really didn't want to leave. On arrival, we were welcomed by the friendly manager and were very pleased with the size and quality of our room which had everything we needed and had beautiful mountain views and the beach was 2 minutes away. the supermarket was literally next door which was very convenient. Overall, this is an excellent place to stay and we will definately be returning, on our next visit!
