We reached Greymouth from Christchurch by the trans alpine train. This hotel was the worst accommodation of my entire New Zealand trip. It is outdated and dirty. It felt as if I was staying in a hostel and not a hotel. The lobby and restaurant is ok but the rooms are pathetic. In which hotel on this earth you would see water pipes on the ceiling of the rooms with TV of olden times. The bed was very uncomfortable and the heater in my room was also not working. The location of the hotel is good as this is in close proximity to the market and restaurants. If this is the best accommodation of Greymouth then it is better to skip this destination only. The only good part about this city was the drive to and from Punakaiki.
