Had a great stay while staying at Aachen Place Motel. Found the room to be lovely and clean and it was also nice that it had it's own little kitchen which wasn't in the same room as the sleeping area. Location was great, just across room the indoor pools, supermarket just up the road and walking distance to town. Would stay there again with no hesitation

The motel is satisfactory in terms of the cleanliness and basic presentation but there is absolutely nothing for children to do and it is very noisy at night with the 2-br apartments facing the busy road. I would not have complained about these factors except that the responses that I received from the owners after I left were deplorable.
I decided to cancel our 4 night reservation after the first night because of the reasons provided above. I called another motel down the road to make reservations with them and the owners at Aachen Place investigated my phone bill and commented about this as I was leaving and again later on email correspondence. I then accidentally left my 4 year-old child's security blanket (small pillow slip) at the motel and received a rude email from the owner when I enquired about it commenting on my 'very high standards' and stating that other occupants did not complain as I did (after I had requested a fan for the heat, which they didn't have). They refused to send the item until I forwarded a prepaid sachet and then waited a week after receiving that because they were "busy". The only humour in the situation is that the whole scenario did remind me of Basil Fawlty's little hissy fits with customers who dared to slight him but really in this day and age it was an example of incredibly unprofessional and childish behaviour for motel owners. There are a range of other motels available in the area and some have fabulous amenities for children. I recommend you bypass Aachen Place Motel.

Motel fittings were a little outdated. Like most motels Internet WiFi is not free and you need to pay for this. The monies being asked for a night being NZD165 should include these facilities for free. The motel is over priced in the current market.

Great place to stay if need an overnight stop. My partner and I were stopping over in Greymouth on our trip around NZ. Motel was clean and tidy and room was adequate for what we needed. Was handy to the state highway (on it!) and close to eating places. Hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. Would recommend for an overnight stop.
