Thames is great location to tour around the Coramandel, and it has some very good little restaurants, and a great street market ! Sunset Motel was very well located and had reasonably priced Chalets with beautiful views across the Bay

A friendly, comfortable motel, ideally situated right on the beach front. A few kilometres from the town, but that guarantees a nice quiet stay and oh, the magnificent sunset!

The views, particularly the sunset were fantastic, but the rest was very poor. The rooms and the furnishings are very "tired". The essential bits such as the kitchen and bathroom were very clean but the rest was grubby. The windows hadn't been cleaned for months, the sillswere dusty with dead flies and the paintwork grubby. All the furniture and fittings were old an well worn, there were splits in the sofas and the deck furniture was falling apart. It is a great shame, the motel has great potential but needs to be totally renovated.

Nice quiet little place. Just step out the door and there you are at the beach. Great for walking / exploring.
