Placed at the bottom of the high street these apartments are perfect for exploring the town. We were in #107 which was set back from the road with forest views from the balcony.

Our room was two level with the bedroom upstairs and the a/c downstairs. It was very hot during our stay. The bedroom was like a sauna and the a/c was utterly useless and the ceiling fan mainly ornamental. $200+ for a room with no a/c!!. The downstairs kitchen/living area stank of cheap, fried food which made us feel sick.

There are a lot of accommodation choices in Margaret River town and nearby. We are glad we choose Margaret Forest – it had everything we needed for a restful four night short break. Our one bedroom spa apartment was on two levels and located on the forest edge at the bottom of the complex. Before making the reservation I talked on the phone with their reception to clarify where in the complex our apartment would be located. The outlook was very peaceful and the apartment was very quiet. The reception staff were always welcoming and friendly. Request for additional towels were never a problem. The ‘wireless internet access’ was not available. We thought it may have been our apartment’s location at the edge of the complex but although we tried different locations we had not luck. The Receptionist contacted their ‘provider’ to arrange repairs.
Location was excellent – out the front gate turn right and you have the shops/restaurants of Margaret River or turn left for lovely riverside walks. The Visitors Centre is very close by, the local supermarket is well stocked, and there is a wide choice of restaurants/cafes/bars and many interesting, unique shops.
In the apartment kitchen was well equipped and self –catering was not difficult. We especially liked the large walk in robe that easily stored all our clothes and luggage. The two person spa bath had a lovely view out to the forest. The weather was cool at night but we were warm in the apartment (air conditioner). The apartments are not newly built but are well maintained. We felt the décor was a little dull but that is a personal thing.
We took a full day ‘Wine and Dine’ tour with Margaret River Tours. The tour visited seven vineyards, did chocolate and cheese tasting and was small and personal. A beautiful gourmet lunch at Voyager Estate (with it’s beautiful gardens and interesting architecture) and an afternoon food platter were included. At no time did we feel rushed as is the case with many tours. There is a huge selection of different tours available with door to door service from the tour companies.

We spend the Christmas break (24/12-27/12/2011) in a very clean and very comfortable two bedroom apartment. I'm a bit of a clean freak & it met my standards easily. Reception staff were terrific, helpful, happy, courteous etc. Definitely returning.
