We stayed a couple of days at the hotel recently. The rooms are basic and could do with a makeover but would suit workers in the mining industry (saw alot staying there) or anyone looking for cheaper, reasonably central accomodation. There was some mould visible on the bathroom wall and this could be because the bathroom fan was too tiny to cope with any amount of vapour. The hotel is situated on Hannan street and only a short stroll (5 minutes) to the shops. A short stroll to the Blue Monkey restaurant (very good).

this is closer than 15 min walk into town- only 1 block from shopping district. easy to find on main street and clean friendly service.

Had a couple of days in Kalgoorlie, went to the horse races, superpit and down a mine and stayed at the Comfort Inn Midas. Being close to town means a 15 minute walk or so and on the main road in from the west but limited disruption from traffic noise. Motel has all the facilities with a pool, restaurant and laundry which befits a reasonably sized motel. Rooms are comfortable and spacious with separated bathroom rooms.
As a low to mid range priced motel it meets a demand with pleasant and efficient staff. A member of the group did not have a TV the first night and the management were at pains to put that right so definitely put their money where their mouth is when it comes to service which is a rare event.
