Being a professional traveller for many years, I have stayed at most of the establishments in Kalgoorlie for one reason or another, but always come back to this one when I have the choice. It is always clean, quiet and comfortable with great amenities, but it is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff that always make my stays a pleasure. When you have to drive long distances, it is always nice to stretch your legs and unwind, being positoned so close to the centre of town is a bonus.

Spur of the moment we decided to stay the night in kalgoorlie. We called a few Hotels but the Railway had the most helpful staff, who didn't make me feel like I was wasting their time. They also had the best offer on a room for one night. Seniors card $120 with cooked breakfast included. But it was the staff attitude that decided us. The room was ok, in need of a little maintenance, clean but had a strong stale smoky smell about it, but I'm sure it is not like this in every room. The bed was very hard so I found it hard to have a good sleep. We had dinner at the restaurant which had a limited menu, but the food was ok and the service very very good and friendly. Breakfast was buffet all you can eat cooked breakfast. The range of food was fantastic. Chippolattas, eggs, baked beans, tomato, mushrooms, hash brown etc. Different types of toasts, juice, tea and coffee. Cereals, yoghurts and fruit etc. It was extremely well done and tasty. The location is within walking distance of the main street and shops, across the road from the railway station and easy to find. We will definately be back.

Clean, quiet, spacious rooms, friendly service, a convenient bar... Quality Hotel Railway in Kalgoorlie was a chance find and it made my stay there really good.
Checking out was swift and the staff was helpful in planning some sightseeing. In my opinion the best place to stay in Kalgoorlie.

I have used the Railway many times for both business and personal travel. I have always found the staff to be polite and helpful, the rooms are clean and comfortable but is location, being a short walk from the town centre makes it a must choose every time.
