“Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Terrible, dirty rooms and too pricey..”

Apart from the hotels fantastic location (close to the beach and CBD), there was nothing at all appealing about this property. Upon arriving, we were rudely dealt with by the reception staff who didnt even direct us to our room.
Upon walking for 10 minutes to find the room, - I would be hesitant to even call it that - we arrived in our shoebox with a view of a law firm building which shon its bright light into our room each night. Holes in the walls and mould in the shower decorated the room.
No staff said hello to us throughout our trip. We were not acknowledged at all in any way. The only friendly member of that hotel was a rather large huntsman spider that was sitting on the stairwell for most of the stay. Calling for assistance in this hotel when it isn't an emergency costs you a $50 call out fee, so a large spider is not deemed an emergency.
Interconnecting rooms have no sound proofing, your able to hear every footstep from next door and the corridors.
Housekeeping never came to clean our room on our 3 day trip.... I had to track them down and ask for new towels in which they took all our dirty ones (hand towels, facewashers, body towels) and gave us only 2 new small towels.
There are better hotels to stay at that are still in a good proximity to the attractions, I would never stay here again though.

Our staff take great care and pride in maintaining our apartments to a high standard of cleanliness and believe that unfortunately in this instance the guest has not had an experience that the majority of our guests have.
Upon check in, guests are advised on how to get to the apartments. In addition, there is clear signage on the location of all rooms. The studio room that the guest occupied is suitable for 2 night stays, however we recommend that the larger apartments are reserved for longer stays. New block out blinds were installed recently and small drill holes from the original curtains are visible. We are currently in the process of replastering these areas.
We respect this guest’s right to an opinion and would be more than happy to have them return again.

“Comfortable and feel at home stay!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2011

We drove from Adelaide to Melbourne and stopped by Warrnambool for a night before heading to our destination. Again, we travelled with family with teenagers and elderly. We checked in to a 3-bedroom townhouse apartment with 2 rooms on ground floor and 1 master room on 1st floor with kitchen/dining/living room. Very comfortable and we felt at home while on holiday. We had our private garage to park our cars, and laundry facilities in the apartment. A reasonable walking distance to the city as well as to the park overlooking the seaview. We decided to cook our own meals since the kitchen facility was sufficient enough to prepare a simple dinner. Great accommodation!

“Great staff, Great Rooms”

The staff at the Quest were fantastic, friendly and helpful with a good knowledge of the surrounding area. Our check in was quick and smooth even though we hadn't booked. The rooms are quite large appartment style and are well appointed. All in all a great place to stay

“Not worth the money”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 June 2010

Watch your credit card charges if you are from out of the country. While all other places charged between 88% and 94% exchange, this hotel charged us over 100% without telling us. Plus, it was quite expensive. In addition, while the two room unit was reasonably clean, it was very noisy. We heard every step in the room above us and, being next to the stairs, the walls actually shook when people went up and down. There was a motion sensor light outside the bedroom that flashed on and off all night even when no one walked by. There was no plug for the bath tub and only one serving of coffee even though four of us were staying there. The check in did not feel welcoming and when I mentioned my concerns on check out, the only response I got was "Oh."

Travelex set the currency conversions for credit card transactions and we have verified that the conversion rates were correct on the day in question. Through our system, guests have the choice of selecting a currency conversion through Travelex (resulting in discounted conversion rate) or the standard credit card merchant fee which will result in a higher charge.

“Ideal stopover for the Great Ocean Road trip!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 May 2010

The 2-Bedroom Serviced Apartment was perfect for our party of 4 adults and an infant. Spacious, comfortable, and nicely furnished rooms, plus a fully-equipped Kitchen and two modern Washrooms. Room rate was very reasonable. Parking is free and just steps away from our staircase. Reception staff was cordial and helpful, eg giving us some useful information on the Great Ocean Road. We rate this an excellent place to stop over, before or after doing the GOR drive.
