Not sure how this motor inn compares to others in Ballarat for comfort & price - we thought it very very good. The "fitness centre" is showing its age (they're renovating it) however with an indoor heated pool, spa, half tennis court, gym equip & table tennis it was a big hit with all the kids (and adults). The rooms have been really well renovated and appointed. We had a room with a spa which was great after two full days of walking Sovereign Hill. Onsite free guest laundry a nice addition. The best feature is the Red Lion bar/bistro/restaurant in front of it. Great meals, gas open fires and a 30-second walk from the rooms. We ate here most days - the other restaurants in Ballarat were rather average (Hogs Breath was awful). Particularly recommended if the sole/main reason for coming to Ballarat is Sovereign Hill - the motor inn is literally a 1-minute drive from it.
