I ended up staying at the Comfort Resort because there was very little choice of accommodation available on this trip to Mackay. The resort is set in very nice gardens, and, at the end of the drive way is a lovely grassed area and the beach. Beautiful for walks or picnics. The resort itself is a bit old and the accommodation is very basic caravan park style villas. The kitchen stove was old but there was also a microwave and full size fridge. There was also everything you need to do your own cooking including crockery, pans etc.
The room could have been a bit cleaner, there were ants in the bathroom but I figure that probably just goes with the territory. The web site is rather misleading, the resort is certainly not as 'new and shiny' as the site portrays, so don't be mislead.
Would I stay there again? Yes, I probably would if all I wanted was a basic room. The key thing is you don't want to be paying top dollar and you don't want to be expecting 5 star accommodation.
