My husband and I and our 25mth old son loved staying at this gorgeous cottage set in a beautiful garden. The cottage is in a quiet spot just by the famous Shotover River, a stones throw from the Historic Shotover Bridge.
It is very peaceful - so much more relaxing than being in the busy madness of tourists in Queenstown. However, it's only a short drive into town or to the nearby The Remarkables Park Shopping Centre in one direction and Arrowtown in the other.
Glenys and Kevin were excellent hosts and couldn't do enough for us. As well as being very welcoming and making us feel at home, they were very understanding of our dietary requirements and our sons food allergies. Glenys prepared wonderful breakfasts for us. She was so patient and kind to our little boy who was having his first holiday away and was quite taken with the concept of "a new bed" to sleep in! Buckley and Ellie the cat were also a big hit - and as equally patient with an excited little boy wanting to cuddle them!
It was lovely to stay somewhere with such character and that so obviously is well cared for. All the amenities were great - just like being at home, a lounge with wonderful fire (not the we needed it when we stayed), a full kitchen, (esp. handy when dealing with food allergies), and a bathroom with a bath and a great shower.
The 2 nights we'd booked weren't long enough and we would have loved to be able to stay longer and highly recommend The Ferry as a "must stay" place in Queenstown!
