Tish and Murray, the benevolent proprietors of Evergreen, are a lovely mix of your aunt and uncle who affably take care of you, and hospitality professionals who create a pleasant, clean, and comfortable environment for you to be alone and relax. Tish makes a mean breakfast to order. Murray takes care of arrangements in and around Queenstown. They're honest about what they know and don't know. They're plugged in locally and happily serve as buffer between you and the world. The large windows in the lounge and bedrooms offer a great view of the lake and mountains and are the main physical feature of this lodge other than its hosts. The place has a lovely sauna and doesn't nickle and dime visitors over "extras." The main drawback is that the lodge is more than a stone-throw from downtown, requiring a car (or taxis). We highly recommend it.

Stunning lakefront views from all the rooms. Very private grounds in a quiet residential neighborhood only 5 minutes from town. Away from all the newly built up hotes and resorts in town. High-end furnishings and cozy environment. Hosts were attentive and knowledgeable. They took care of booking our various activities. We were relaxed and comfortable and had the best rest on our trip, and could have easily stayed longer.

We just spent 3 nights in the Evergreen Lodge with hosts Tish and Murray who made us very welcome. We had a fabulous room (Room 1) with incredible views of the lake outside our bedroom, our own balcony, and immaculate bathroom. The kitchens and minibar are filled with wine, water. juice and beers - all of which are complimentary.

They took care of everything for us- booking taxis and restaurants and recommneded places to go and visit nearby. They were perfect hosts - making us welcome and we really did feel at home.

Tish did us glorious breakfasts each day and we enjoyed the use of their sauna and gym. Each night we came back to a warm bed (electric blankets) and a little chocolate surprsie. The place was immaculate with gorgeous flowers and magazines to read. You can just chill out and drink in the views here... and then in 10 minures you can bee in Queenstown ($NZ20 ride) and enjoy the fantsatic city which has great restaurants and shopping and excitement- we will be back.

The lodge is top class with wonderful views & Tish & Murray were charming hosts who could not do enough for us. The facilities in the lodge are first class & it is very spacious.
We would love to go back to Queenstown & the Evergreen Lodge. It is pleasing to meet such pleasant people who helped make our stay so enjoyable.
