Spotlessly clean and comfortably spacious rooms. Basic self catering facilities in rooms + use of a small communal kitchen work well. Comfortable bed. Location is excellent, only a few minutes walk to main street or up to the gondola. Several different levels of accommodation cater for all. To save some $ we initially chose a garden room (at the rear of the lodge) with access to a pleasant, sunny shared courtyard area. We then decided to upgrade to a lake view room at the front of the lodge to embrace the amazing views. Loved being able to sit on our balcony and take in the sunset over the mountains - stunning. The only negative was that the front rooms, being on the street side, had quite a bit of traffic and people noise during the night if you wanted the windows or balcony doors open for ventilation. The double glazing worked well to block out the noise when they were closed, but this also meant the room was a bit stuffy for sleeping. Have your morning coffee at Vudu (they also do an amazing salmon quiche takeaway to have in your room later). Ferg Bakery also does great stuff for takeaway and/or self caterers. All the hotel staff from front desk to housekeeping were incredibly friendly and helpful. Strongly recommend staying here.

Good location and very helpful duty manager who did everything he could to help but sadly the walls were paper thin, fortunately our neighbours were considerate in the main so it was bearable.

a lovely place to stay, close to town for easy access to all the extreme & wonderful features queenstown provides, the reception (lauren) provided fantastic customer service, made us feel very welcome, we would stay here again if we ever return to new zealand within a heartbeat
