“This truly is the most beautifully sited, equipped and run B&B you are ever likely to visit”

From the first welcome to the last breakfast, this really is fantastic. Overall, simply wonderful. Book quickly before word gets round: it's fairly new, and still getting known about. Not expensive at all for what it provides.

On to detail.

Location: easy to find, away from the sometimes noisy hubbub of Queenstown central. A couple of minutes by car, 20 minutes walking, $11 or so by taxi. Parking on site. And the view! Directly opposite the Incredibles, with an uninterrupted view to the lake and up to the sharp ridges...idyllic.

Welcome and first impressions: Rose is the most magical host, and welcomes you right from the start. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for her. And the house is so beautiful: wood and marble floors, huge windows, multiple terraces...I have never stayed in such a good looking home.

Room: We stayed in the Master Bedroom, with huge windows and its own terrace. Everything you want: well equipped bathroom with good shower, hairdryer, ironing board, iron, fridge, television, walk-in cupboard/dressing room, individual lights each side of the bed. A bowl of fresh fruit including local peaches and cherries. Tea and coffee making facilities. And again, the view!

Breakfast: yoghurts, cereals, full cooked breakfast, juices, toast, croissants, cold ham and cheese..anything you want. Tea and coffee freshly made (teapots and cafetiere). Choice of preserves. Fresh fruit salad and fresh fruit. And if you can believe it, Rose even asked me if I wanted my egg fried in the same fat as the bacon or fresh oil (obviously, I plumped for the bacon fat)! We stayed four nights, and she served us breakfast at any time that suited us.

Relaxing: lovely sitting room looking out over that view, and comfortable chairs on the main terrace. Rose constantly plied us with cups of tea, biscuits, snacks, beer, offers of wine... We never felt we were intruding.

Other stuff: we asked about where to find a laundry in town and she insisted we use her machine, even helping us hang out the washing. Internet is free (though she'd rather you didn't stream video!) and works. Mobile phone reception is excellent. Charming and friendly small dogs.(and we're not normally doggy people).

Room Tip: All the rooms have that view, but the Master King Bedroom has the best view, and the best terrace, a...

“What a fabulous find!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

We have just returned from our stay at Amour B&B and just had to post this review. What a beautiful B&B this is! A gem! We stayed for four nights and would rate this as one of the best places we have stayed in. Amour is located down a private road off Panorama Terrace and has the most superb views of the lake and the Remarkables mountain range, uninterrupted by any other buildings. Our host, Rose was very welcoming and so helpful amd accomodating, allowing us space to set up our bikes and repack them at the end of our stay. We had the Master bedroom which had an ensuite and a lovely balcony to sit on and soak up the spectacular views. The rooms are all modern, spotless and beautifully decorated - lovely bedlinen, soft towels and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast each morning was excellent. Rose provided a beautiful spread of cereal, yoghurt, breads, cheese, fruit juice, coffee and a cooked meal that set us up for the day! We had specific dietary requirements and she made a special effort to accomodate this, which we really appreciated. Guests are made welcome in the living area which again has breathtaking views and is furnished so tastefully. Rose is such a friendly and charming host. We enjoyed sharing our experiences with her when we returned each day over a cup of coffee in the lounge in front of the huge windows. When we left we felt like we were farewelling a good friend. It is a place that we would be happy to return to for the view, the ambiance and the company. No one would need to twist our arm - we would be back like a shot!!!
Thank you Rose for makiing our stay with you so memorable.

“Excellent!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

The most beautifull B&B or hotel we ever stayed in: fully renovated with high quality materials, floor to ceiling windows in the living room/ kitchen area with comfy sofas and a luxurious kitchen (which you won't use because there is no way you could make a better breakfast than the host does). Room was impeccable, same goes for the en-suite. The views from the room, living room and terraces are just stunning. The host goes well out of her way to make your stay comfortable and personalized. Fantastic place to stay. You'll feel like Prince William and Kate. On their honeymoon.

“Amour Queenstown - a fantastic B&B experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

We stayed at Amour during December 2011 and had an absolutely fantastic time, so much so that we stayed an extra night! Rose is the perfect host and made us feel incredibly welcome and comfortable. Her home is spectacular and everything you could possibly need was provided. A delightful breakfast was served each morning at our convenience and Rose was more than happy to accommodate dietary needs (vegetarian).
The B&B is situated in a fantastic location, being only a short walk into the heart of Queenstown to access dining options, the gondola and activity centers. The views from the home are nothing short of amazing and we marveled over the Remarkables and views of the lake from the outdoor decks. It was a fantastic way to enjoy our breakfast or unwind in the evening with a few glasses of wine.
We stayed in the Lake View Master bedroom, which was comfortable and spacious, with its own en-suite and balcony. All of the rooms are very tastefully decorated and provide a warm and cosy atmosphere.
We thoroughly enjoyed the company of Rose (and the gorgeous dogs Lucy and Austin) and can't wait to return for another visit. Our stay at Amour was a fantastic experience, a highlight of our time in NZ.

“Queenstown's best kept secret”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

My wife and I stayed at the Amour B&B for four nights between the 31st Dec 2011 and 4th Jan 2012. I have to say that one of the fondest memories of our two-week trip around the South Island was staying at the Amour. On arrival, we were greeted with cheese, biscuits and wine; which complemented the amazing view from the deck whilst watching the sky turn pink as the sun slowly descended behind Ben Lomond. Breakfast was a selection of hot and cold to your choice and at the time you wanted it; including freshly baked pastries. Room was excellent with a bed so comfortable you just want to stay there all day. The host, Rose, was always friendly and loved sitting down at the end of the day and sharing a beer or wine whilst talking over the day’s adventures. The two Maltase dogs, Austin and Lucy, were adorable. They offered some entertainment with their distinct personalities and always wanted to play or have attention. When it was time to leave, both my wife and I were a little upset as it felt as though we were leaving an old friend; vice someone we only knew for four days. Would not look anywhere else when we return to Queenstown.

Room Tip: All rooms are good. Though the Lake-View has its own bathroom; with the other two rooms sharing.
