We are staying in room 306 which is a spacious 2 bedroom, 2 bath end unit apartment. There is a washer dryer and a well equipped kitchen. There is air conditioning (don't know if this applies to all of the apartments but certainly works well in our unit). There is a walking trail along the lake just in front of the apartments. Although it is not within walking distance of town, it is quiet and a convenient location if you have a car. As stated below, don't be turned off by the outside appearance - the interior is great. The apartment is clean and modern. I would not hesitate to recommend the Mantra.

I picked this hotel as the accomodation in Queenstown, stayed there for four nights and it turned out to be perfect. I stayed at a lakefront apartment, which was very well "equipped", you could find almost everything you need for a pleasant stay,fridge, coffee, tea, clean cups (coffee cups, wine cups), forks, spoons, washing machine, dish washer and etc.(The bed is a little hard, but it is no big deal). The hotel is not in downtown Queenstown, actually it is about 5 bus stops away from downtown (5NZD/per way/per person), (in an area called Frankton), but it makes it better for honeymoon due to the quietness and tranquilty around the apartment. You may walk or jog or bike to Queenstown along the track in front of the hotel. It took my husband and I about 1h30 to complete the track on foot and it takes about another 20 minutes to reach downtown, but it is a nice walk with beautiful view. The room service was good. Front dest ok.

Tips:
*If you are interested in an intensivie schedule in Queenstown and you don't drive, this is not the right hotel for you, because the bus service runs only once every hour after 6:00pm, and it takes a long time to travel back and forth.
*There is no resturant in the hotel, and no resturant nearby.
*I booked the hotel 5 months ago and there is only a 20NZD difference in the price of the hotel. There is no early bird offer or special bonus for honeymoon.

Agree completely with other reviewers - the apartments in this complex are absolutely massive and are very new, modern and contain everything you could possibly need or want in a short or long stay.
We stayed in a 1BR apartment which turned out to be the 2br/bth version - not sure if this is normal or they were just busy so gave us this. Awesome views over the lake and the remarkables from our large balcony.
Location is a little out of centre but can bike ride in 20 minutes, and a very easy drive if you have a car.
Great service from reception.
Nothing bad to say about this place and would definitely stay there again if we return to Queenstown.

We stayed at this hotel with a family of 4. We had a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom. It had great amenties (kitchen, washer/dryer) and was very spacious. After travelinmg all over New Zealand and staying in mutilple places this was the best. It seemed fairly new with a modern style. It was also very clean and right on the lake. There is a nice walking trail right outside the hotel that you can take all the way to town if you desire. It was also nice and quiet. It is located about 2km to ariport and shopping center (for groceries) and about 5km from the center of Queenstown. I would defintitely stay here again. If you want to be in the heart of downtown, this may be too far fro you. But, it is a quick drive.
