We just returned from 3 nights at Mt Rosa Lodge, the highlight of our trip to the South Island. Impeccably clean, unbelievable views, extremely welcoming hosts, a relaxing haven.

Mt Rosa Lodge is in the Gibbston Valley, about a 10 minute drive to Arrowtown and a 20 minute drive to Queenstown. This is the perfect place to experience both the serenity and scenery of the Valley with the bustle and buzz of Queenstown which is right on your doorstep.

My husband and I would whole-heartedly recommend Mt Rosa Lodge as a luxurious, 5 star B&B. Brian and Maureen also made great food and wine recommendations in both Queenstown and Arrowtown.

My partner recently whisked me out to the Gibbston Valley for a surprise birthday treat at Mt Rosa Lodge. I would thoroughly recommend it for any food and wine lovers looking to treat themselves to a relaxing break away. Brian and Maureen the hosts, made us feel so welcome in their beautiful Lodge where we enjoyed some bubbles and nibbles in front of the roaring fireplace before sitting down to a very tasty meal prepared by Maureen. The hosts own Pinot Noir, Imbiber, is one of the best we've tasted and definitely worth a drive up to the property just to get your hands on a bottle or 2!
Our room was beautifully appointed with a cosy fireplace, extremely comfortable large bed and stunning views of the surrounding local vineyards and hills. We awoke the next morning to snow blanketing the entire landscape. Overall, the whole experience was simply magical!

We actually booked ourselves into another B&B for our honeymoon in Queenstown but due to some circumstamces (which I think is fate) we got recommended to Mt Rosa. I was abit hesitant but upon looking at the website and reviews on Trip Advisor decided to stay at this place. It definitely lived up to the great reviews I read. A warm welcome by Maureen, amazing view from the room and the comfortable and luxurious decor in the room lifted our tired moods after having our flight delayed. Both the hosts Brain & Maureen are great conversationalist with lots of advice on where to go and what to do in the area. Food was to die for especially the chicken and coconut rice she cooked for us the second night upon realising I am a Malaysian with a penchant for spicy food and rice! The "limited edition 2008 Pinot Noir" was great too :). Thanks again for the wonderful hospitality shown to us during our short stay there. I wish I had actually booked a longer stay.

Four days spent with Brian and Maureen helping with the harvest of their Pinot Noir grapes, a trek up Mt Rosa behind the lodge, exhausting but stunning views plus an amazing trip into Skippers Canyon to say nothing of the fine hospitality, food and wine we enjoyed throughout our stay. Top class accommodation . Hope to return next year!
