“Superb appartment in a convenient and beautiful location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

A stunning appartment set in a central and convenient location. The Stonehouse appartment we stayed in was beautifully decorated with a spacious lounge/dining room, separate kitchen and double bedroom with a massive bed and lots of cupboard space. The kitchen was fully equipped, lots of fabulous little touches like the stainless steel cafetiere and beautiful crockery and glassware. The hot tub was a particular highlight, and it was lovely to unwind there in the evening. I'd recommend this appartment to anyone.

“Queenstown at your fingertips a perfect setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 December 2011

Where do I start. Cannot fault the setting with central Queenstown just a short downhill walk. The apartment was beautifully decorated, spacious, included a dishwasher and modern kitchen equipment. The Stonehouse is extremely well managed by Alex and John. Alex is very knowledgeable and nothing is too much trouble, he even suggested things to do and see.

The hot tub was a real bonus to unwind in after a day out exploring Central Otago.

Don't look any further this is the only place to stay in Queenstown and if you don't want an apartment Bed and Breakfast can be provide by Alex and John at the Chalet Queentown

“Great base to explore Queenstown”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 October 2011

We stayed in Daniel's apartment in the Historic Stone House and couldn't have been happier with the accommodation. It was spacious, well situated, beautifully decorated and the manager Alex was extremely pleasant and helpful. The apartment was also serviced each day which we weren't expecting. Excellent value and nice to stay somewhere with a bit of character.

“Perfect!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 August 2011

One of the best places Ive ever stayed at. Friendly service, amazing location, and most lovely and cosy accomodation. Will never stay anywhere else in Queenstown! Loved it. Theres a phone outside the Stonehouse so you can contact the manager if you have any problems. I loved that they were only a phone call away. Luckily there was so much info in the house we never had to use it.
The rooms were beatifully furnished. Modern kitchen appliances. Each bedroom either has an ensuite or its own bathroom across the hallway. One open fireplace and one closed fireplace (and many electric heaters in the other rooms) keep you warm and are restocked every day with kindling and firewood, ready for lighting after a long day on the peaks or shopping in town (only a 3 to 5 minute walk away). There are lovely views of the mountains at each end of the street.
Spending the cash for this house was worth every cent, and I will most definitely book again the next time Im in Queenstown :)

Room Tip: Two rooms of the three are road adjacent, so a little noiser, but still very luxurious.

“wounderful experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 June 2011

After travelling around new zealand for three weeks we ended out stay in Queenstown . I cannot speak highly enough of our stay at the historic stone house. From the moment we arrived the manager Alex was so welcoming and could not do enough for us. Alex had so much local information and recommend so many amazing restaurant and activies during our stay.
The historic stone house is one of the most beautiful places we stayed in New Zealand from its open fire place, well equipped kitchen, decor, very comfortable rooms and within a short walking distance to town..
we definitely intend to come back to queenstown and wouldnt stay anywhere else.
