My husband and I stayed at The Manor for 2 nights while touring through the whole of South Island. We stayed in other homestays as well and we must say that The Manor impressed us. What left a lasting impression was Frank and Pat's hospitality. They warmly welcomes ud into their homes and tried to make our stay as comfortable as possible.
We stayed in the Gold Room and we were provided with a very very comfortable bed. The room faced the perfectly manicured lawn and garden, filled with blossoming flowers.
The breakfast was a lavish affair, freshly cooked, consisting of toast from home made dough, farm fresh eggs, cereals with milk, orange juice, fresh fruits, poached pineapple, mushrooms, roasted tomato, crisply fried bacon, sausages and a variety of spreads and dips. All the while, Pat and Frank regaled us with stories and anecdotes.
We got to hand feed little lambs and hens. It was an amazing time and the bathrooms were spotlessly clean and very luxurious with a large number of towels, wipes, body, wash, lotions and shampoos.
The only inconvenience was that the bathroom was not attached to the Gold Room. It was just down a little corridor. Also, our room didn't have a television, which bothered my hubby a bit since he can't fall asleep without it. But we readily forgot those slight inconveniences in view of the overall comfort of the stay. We loved it! Thanks so much Pat and Frank. I would highly recommend The Manor.
