“A very cosy stay at the bottom of New Zealand with very hospitable hosts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 March 2011

My wife and I stayed at the Manor for 2 nights in January 2011. We had a most enjoyable stay. The accommodation was just to our liking - very comfortable in a very quiet area with a large sheltered garden. Our hosts Pat and Frank were very hospitable and most helpful. We really enjoyed our pre-dinner chats over a glass of sherry in our sitting room. The continental breakfasts, with home baked bread, were delicious.

“Warm hospitality and superb breakfast!”

My husband and I stayed at The Manor for 2 nights while touring through the whole of South Island. We stayed in other homestays as well and we must say that The Manor impressed us. What left a lasting impression was Frank and Pat's hospitality. They warmly welcomes ud into their homes and tried to make our stay as comfortable as possible.

We stayed in the Gold Room and we were provided with a very very comfortable bed. The room faced the perfectly manicured lawn and garden, filled with blossoming flowers.

The breakfast was a lavish affair, freshly cooked, consisting of toast from home made dough, farm fresh eggs, cereals with milk, orange juice, fresh fruits, poached pineapple, mushrooms, roasted tomato, crisply fried bacon, sausages and a variety of spreads and dips. All the while, Pat and Frank regaled us with stories and anecdotes.

We got to hand feed little lambs and hens. It was an amazing time and the bathrooms were spotlessly clean and very luxurious with a large number of towels, wipes, body, wash, lotions and shampoos.

The only inconvenience was that the bathroom was not attached to the Gold Room. It was just down a little corridor. Also, our room didn't have a television, which bothered my hubby a bit since he can't fall asleep without it. But we readily forgot those slight inconveniences in view of the overall comfort of the stay. We loved it! Thanks so much Pat and Frank. I would highly recommend The Manor.

“Country bliss with good home grown care and friendliness”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 May 2010

If you are looking for a hidden gem that offers tranquility, peace and delightful hosts you can't go past The Manor B&B. Nothing is too much trouble for Pat and Frank with big hearty breakfats, the best home bottled apricots and even home-baked bread. Little treats like home made muffins and tasty beetroot chutney were unexpected treats and showed the generosity of our hosts. There is no city noise in their gorgeous rural setting so sleep comes quickly in their very comfy beds and you wake to the sound of birds chirping in the morning frosty air. Close to town its the ideal place to stay when you visit the deep South. We'll be back.

“Accomodating in every way. Relaxed, Friendly, homely atmosphere.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 April 2010

The Manor B&B was an excellent place to stay. Close to Invercargill and yet on acreage that allowed for the peace and tranquility of a real holiday. Frank and Pat our hosts were unbelievably friendy, helpful and made us feel very much at home.
Nothing was any trouble for either of them. I have to recommend Pat's muffins - I can still taste them, they were so good.
Would stay there anytime I am in NZ and rate them highly.
