We were impressed with the Mercure Leisure Lodge Dunedin.

We arrived at 9:30 pm and there was a smiling person to meet us at the desk and check in was easy. We left at 7:30 and there was another smiling person on the desk.

The room had a small kitchenette, heater, huge tv, electric blankets, free filtered water, very nice, new and immaculately clean bathroom with proper shower head (fully adjustable for pressure and heat), shampoo and tissues. Free wifi for half hour. The bed was queensize and very comfortable with excellent linen and pillows. We had a extra door to the outside which was accessed by security key only and was very convenient.

In comparison to where our friends stayed (and they paid more per person) it was absolutely fantastic. We had a car and didn't spend any time in Dunedin so I can not comment on the location except that it was next to a lovely garden. We would definitely stay there again.

The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because we didn't use all the facilities so couldln't comment on them. It was a great hotel though.
