We stayed here for 14 days at the end of April 2011. We would highly recommend the Cumberland Motel. The room was warm, comfortable and had everything we needed. The towels and shower curtain were changed every day, bathroom cleaned and surfaces wiped down, all rubbish removed and the room occasionally vaccumed.
The room was roomy and comfortable to lounge in, without getting in each others way.
There was more than enough cupboard space, if you choose to spread out:-)
The beds were very comfortable and warm and well placed in the rooms.
While the road traffic was noisy at times, we had been warned about this when we booked, so were prepared, however, this did not impact negatively on our stay.
The hotel owners and staff were warm and friendly and were very accommodating and helpful.
The motel is conveniently located to the shopping area, the university, and restaurants.
There is also a laundry with a machine and drier and a washing line that we were able to access.
There is also a lovely dairy over the road.

We stayed here for 4 days (Dec. '09 - Jan. '10). The rooms were affordable, clean & spacious. Our room had 2 bedrooms (room for 4 people), a small kitchen (complete with utensils, dishes & glasses), living area & bathroom.

Annie & Wayne, who run the place, are very nice and always eager to help with whatever you may need. They have all the information you will need on Dunedin, Otago & the South Island.

The motel is about 5 mins. walk from the Octagon in central Dunedin.
