A friend and I booked a nights accommodation here last weekend. We were warmly welcomed to the address and shown promptly to our room by the motelier. The studio room had everything necessary (and a few extras) for a good stay - wall mounted flatscreen tv, comfie beds, coffee and tea making facilities, and a fridge. The furnishings were modern and tasteful, and the double glazed door and window were successful in blocking out all but the loudest noises.
We found the location to be excellent as I was competing in a bike race on the Peninsula, and this was the closest hotel to both the area and town. It was just a short drive to Dunedin Central, and a short walk to the nearby Countdown grocery store, Couplands bakery, McDs, BK, and a myriad of petrol stations. Also very close to the St Kilda/ St Clair beach areas.
An added bonus for me was the presence of "Max", the hotel dog. The coolest poodle on the block!!!

We have stayed at 555 On Bayview four times in the last six months. Every visit has been better than the last.

The new rooms are flawless with all the creature comforts, including king size bed, modern kitchenette, spacious bathroom, and large flat screen TV and DVD. Double glazed windows and sliding door keep the rooms warm in winter, cool in summer, and whisper quiet from outside noise. The onsite car parking is easy and safe, and the location is close to all destinations – city, beach and country. Additional amenities include new business/meeting rooms, wireless internet access, and immaculately clean laundry facilities.

The service is second to none. Staff are friendly, fun and efficient, and always more than happy to help in any way they can. And hosts, Richard and Sue, are simply delightful. Everything they do is professional with a personal touch, and they always go above and beyond to provide the most comfortable and enjoyable stay. From your first enquiry to your final check out, nothing is too much trouble, and they treat every guest like the most important one. They also know Dunedin inside out and can point you in the right direction.

555 On Bayview is a home away from home for business and holiday travellers alike. It offers outstanding quality, service and value, and is easily the best accommodation in Dunedin. Enjoy!

I travel the South Island every week in my job. A friendly greeting and a comfortable bed are important. The hosts are very helpful and always smiling. The rooms are new and modern and very comfortable (love the new big flat screen tv). I look forward to my visits to Dunedin and 555. Handy to town and the beach. Well done.

We arrived on Xmas eve and stayed at the Best Western in Dunedin for few nights, and it was new and clean, our hosts were so friendly, produced a plate of goodies on Xmas day for us and let us leave the car onsite while we went off for 5 days on a cycle trip.
The location is not in the city centre a cab ride approx $13-$15, but you have all the major take aways around you, KFC, MacDonalds, Burger King, a super market and garage across the road. Dunedin city is just lovely and we will definitely return one day and will stay again at the Best Western.
