The owner of Buckingham Court couldn't do enough for us - he was friendly and helpful. The unit had a separate bedroom and full kitchen facilities, all very clean and comfortable. The motel is located just off a very busy road, and opposite the lovely Avon River. Despite being close to the road, there was no road noise and the complex was a real haven from the bustle of the city. Easy 15 min walk to supermarket, shops and excellent restaurants. We also walked along the river to the central city - about 25 mins. The best feature of this motel is its surprisingly peaceful atmosphere so close to the city (5 mins drive), and the feeling of being a welcome guest. A couple of coffee tables in the room would have made it easier to relax and enjoy a coffee while watching TV, but this is a minor point.

Stayed at Buckingham Court for two nights during last week. Its clean, comfortable and well equipped. The owner Geoff was a great bloke and anything we needed he was only too happy to help with. Will book in again when we next visit NZ.

With 2 nights accommodation previously booked at another Christchurch Motel unable to be extended, Geoff was most helpful in providing us with a 3rd night accommodation in Christchurch at short notice. With our booking being made with little knowledge of the location, the Buckingham Court Motel proved to be a hidden gem. Being in a lovely quiet location the unit was very clean and comfortable and had windows that you could open for fresh air without the fear of noise, which had been a problem at our other “nearer to the city” accommodation. It is in a pretty treed area and only a short walk shops, restaurants and the Avon River. This motel was the 3rd Christchurch motel that we stayed in during our 3 week tour of New Zealand and by far the best in Christchurch and is highly recommended.

This is a hidden gem. Right on the bus route to the city which is only a 20 minute walk anyway. The rooms were clean and really quiet and the bed was great. Our host Geoff was really helpful with any of our problems. This is a really good location.
