I agree with everything the other reviewers have said. A good choice right in the centre of town. All of central Christchurch is in walking distance as are good cafes etc for meals. Eat out not in the Hotel. Staff were very attentive and knew the local attractions. We had a suite overlooking the square and found evrything to our liking. I would recommend.

What we liked most of this hotel was it's location which is right next to the Cathedral in the lively Cathedral Square. This made it easy for us to get to the tram and walk around. We also took a bus from the airport as it has a stop near the Cathedral Square. The room was a bit small but it was cozy. Not very knowledgeable concierge but it was easy to find information anyway. We booked directly with the hotel and got a good rate on non-refundable basis.

The Millennium is located in the center of Christchurch. The tram goes by the hotel and everything is only a few blocks away. The staff was very friendly and helpful. This is a perfect place to stay and plan your day tours around the Christchurch area. The concerge staff was excellent. The dining room is one of the better resturants in Christchurch. The only down side was they are constucting an extension to the tram line next to the hotel and there was some construction noise. Hopefully, it will be done by May of 2011

We only wanted one night before getting on the train to the west coast and, although this hotel is at the expensive end, it was a great choice. Excellent location, you can walk all around central Christchurch and down to the big park. Asked reception to organise us a taxi to the train station for the next morning and she instantly told us there was a free shuttle and just ask the concierge to book us in. Rooms nice and clean although shower over bath a bit old fashioned - no one likes shower curtains these days ! The beds were wonderful ! Food in Piko Piko was awesome too.
