Staying at A Nest was a great start to our holiday in New Zealand. Kathryn and Kai are wonderful hosts, very friendly and helpful. Kathryn’s breakfasts were great. The house is beautiful, large and well equipped with everything we needed. We highly recommend A Nest as a great place to stay while visiting Christchurch.

The Nest on the Mount Pleasant is exactly what it says in its title: a beautiful house built on a hill among the trees with eye pleasing views and a nice feel of privacy and tranquility. All rooms are beautifully decorated and equipped. The house is very spacious and a lounge with a fireplace is a real bonus, it's cosy but big enough to share with other guests, so you don't need to be confined to your room. The hosts, Kathryn and Kai, are delightful. They live in the house opposite but are always available at your first request. They both come in the morning to cook breakfast for guests and stay for a cup of coffee and a chat which is so nice of them! They really care and make you feel at home. We received a lot of helpful tips from them about the local area and beyond.
We loved our stay there so much that when leaving we felt like taking them and the house with us ;) The Nest was a real find. The best way to book it is to give Kathryn and Kai a call.

We stayed at 'The Nest' for three nights at the end of our holiday in New Zealand. It was far more than we expected - spacious, clean and comfortable and had Kathyrn and Kai's friendliness as well! The house has everything that anyone could want and, as Kai and Kathryn live across the road, they are always there to help and advise if needed. They have a wealth of knowledge about the Christchurch area and can suggest places to visit whether for a whole day or part of a day. I cannot recommend 'The Nest' more strongly.

We arrived at the nest for the first 2 nights of our holiday in New Zealand. The house is set in a beautiful location overlooking the water, with great views and a lovely airy feel. Kathryn and Kai made us most welcome, helped us with planning our stay, and gave us helpful tips about our journey round New Zealand. Breakfasts were superb, and the house is well appointed with access to all home comforts including internet and freeview TV. We loved our 2 days there and would thoroughly recommend it.
