We had one night here in Jan. 2012...most Christchurch CBD hotels are shut because of the Earthquake damage, but this lovely motel is close to town, outside a bus stop and only a few minutes ride from the city itself. It is adjacent to the lovely Hagley Park and a very pleasant 15 minute stoll into the city. The owners are very helpful, and the unit is comfortable and spacious...it even has a coffee plunger and coffee supplied. A free shuttle to the train station is available, and the metro no. 3 bus from the airport is and stops right outside the motel.

Super location near Hagley Park with lots of eateries and 24 hour grocery store close by. Easy walk to centre of Christchurch through the park. Well equipped, very clean, the free wifi is very useful. Fridge and microwave. Spa and swimming pool great extras. Highly recommended.

We were supposed to stay there for 2 nites but as our vehicle got problem and we gotta change our stay to 1 nite in last minute. Thanks to the great hosts for understanding our problem.
This place is of great location, near Hagley Park, 24hr convenience store, and the largest shopping mall innk South Island.
The outside of the motel looks great. The interior is a bit old but they have good facilities. I think this place is worth staying :)

We stayed at the Aalton Motel for one night. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Jane, whom was really friendly and helpful – she made us feel really welcome.
Knowing that were travelling on honeymoon, we noticed that they had added a lovely gesture to present the bath towels specially on the bed.
The room was clean and spacious, with cooking facilities and comes with free Wi-Fi.
Overall, it was pleasant, and we did not face any problems during our stay.
