Friendly people but when it came to the water pressure, it was very poor. Took half an hour to run a bath. The shower had little pressure. Disappointed to see a crushed venetian blind at the window. 4 plus star. I don't think so!

The Phoenix Motor Inn
On November I was on holiday in New Zealand and was traveling the south island with a dear old friend. We had winged most of the trip, and hadn't made any reservations. As luck would have it most of the hotels, motels & inn's were full. We lucked out and came upon The Phoeni Motor Inn. upon our arrival in the late evening we had asked for two rooms. How ever they offered us a better deal, a large suite with separate bed rooms. & bathrooms. The room was perfect, large comfy beds our own bathrooms we got a very restful nights sleep.
They made several recommendations for us. For dinner, breakfast and for the wine tours all prefect. Thery also let us keep our car there while we went on the wine tour.
They helped make my first (and hopefully not last) trip to New Zealand, not only very memorable but it ranks up there as one of the one most relaxing and prefect vacations i have ever had.
If you have to pick one place to stay in Blenheim, I suggest stay here

Very clean and comfortable, would stay here again. Towels refreshed daily. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The location was just great for visiting all the wineries, which was our big reason for being in Blenheim. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, especially our hosts. They were so great with giving us directions and general information (especially when we, being from Texas, desperately needed a good steak). The motel was extremely clean (as was all of New Zealand) and comfortable. If we go back we will definitely stay there again.
