Maybe we were unlucky with our choice of day as the staff Xmas party was on which meant that we only could get one key. This meant that we couldn't get in to the building separately which was quite annoying, The apartment was also very cold and noisy from the bar downstairs so sleeping was difficult. It was also very annoying how you had to clean the place from top to bottom when leaving. I think a hotel would have been better as the cooking facilities were poor anyway which meant you lost the benefit of the apartment!

Stayed here for 5 nights. Very exceptional value. Good location. Very good price studio apartment room included bathroom and basic kitchen (with oven, hobs, fridge etc) well equipped and furnished. Very quiet. Very clean. Highly recommended. The only minor downside was that the oven was not 100% clean meaning that it smoked when we first put it on and we were worried about setting the fire alarm off.
Another minor negative was the staff told us the wrong box for picking up our keys, leading to a 20 min delay on arrival as we had to call a member of off duty staff to let us in. Despite this set back I still give it 5 out of 5 as it's very hard to beat this for value

Great value apartment for a flying visit to Wellington. We checked in late but the staff called an ran thru the procedure to get in, also emailing them too. Great clean little apartment with everything required for our stay. Great powerful hot shower too (always my way to check a decent hotel!)

We were spending two weeks in Wellington and had initially booked a holiday home in Ngaio. However, when the owner cancelled on us with very little notice, I was extremely lucky to find the Southern Cross Apartment Hotel - for less money than the holiday home! We had a two bedroom apartment which adequately met the needs of our family of four. The apartment was basic, but spacious enough and clean. For the location, I think it's the best deal in the city! We were steps from Cuba street and all its wonderful coffee and food. We were able to walk everywhere we needed to go. We did experience some street noise late on weekend nights, but nothing that woke the kids, and that's what's important. All in all, very highly recommended.
