“Charming B&B”

My daughter and I loved this B & B. The breakfast was great, Jane was so helpful and made us feel very welcome. She keeps cookies in a cookie jar for her guests to eat throughout the day. The B & B is centrally located and we walked from it to several places--in fact, there is a lovely path right behind her place that leads up the hill (was in Lord of Rings movie). Jane is also interesting to talk to. We really hated to leave this spot and move on.

“Great place to stay in Wellington, NZ”

Very comfortable B&B, wonderful breakfast, spacious bedrooms, good wifi. Fantastic collection of books to read. Walking distance to downtown Wellington. It is also right next to Mt. Victoria Park, so if you are a Lord of the Rings fan, you will recognize a classic scene shot there (the Hobbits hiding from the Black Riders).

Jane is a published author and runs an excellent B&B. Her home is spotless and very convenient for all the attractions of downtown Wellington. If you're an avid reader, her library of books is a gold mine.

“Homely, Unique B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 December 2011

This was a lovely find. All the standards are great here - Jane is a friendly and helpful host, the bed and shower are comfy, there is free functional wi-fi and the breakfast is plentiful and absolutely delicious (especially if you opt for a cooked breakfast and Jane makes you scrambled eggs with bacon). We took an early ferry after our second night so Jane prepared a takeaway breakfast of muesli bars, fruit, juice and chocolate which was just what we needed.
But there are so many extras too! Complimentary treats aren't limited to tea/coffee - there are a few big jars of big homemade cookies, plenty of soft drink and even beer and wine for you to take as you please. And then of course there are the books - you could spend all evening browsing Jane's shelves and many more reading them. There is a small selection from which you can take a book with you, so I got to discover a NZ author I wouldn't have otherwise come across. The atmosphere was really special. No question, I'd definitely return.

“"Wonderful and magical, just like a page out of a novel!"”

We stayed at Booklovers for approximately two weeks. Our trip to New Zealand was made to fulfill a dream of our daughter to travel to New Zealand since she was 8 yrs. old.(she is now 15) Booklovers B&B was chosen as our accommodation based on reviews and the fact that Booklovers revolves around books, the love of books and the owner, Jane Tolerton, is an award winning New Zealand author. In our opinion there would be no better opportunity to really get to know the people and culture of Wellington. All our expectations were met. Jane is delightful and brilliant, which made for some great discussions. She was very gracious and hospitable. She went the "extra mile" to help us with all our needs and requests. We felt as if we were staying at the home of a friend. Booklovers is the ideal location for exploring Wellington and beyond. The breakfasts were fabulous! There is no doubt that if we are able to return to New Zealand that we would choose to stay at Booklovers.
