A small quirky boutique hotel, handy to Te Papa and Courtney Place lovingly furnished in a totally different way!!! I loved the 60's and 70's retro design, but shin pads might be handy when getting into bed! We will be back!

A very trendy and comfortable hotel, conveniently located within walking distance of restaurants, pubs and attractions. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. Highly recommended.

I booked in to stay at the Ohtel as I wanted something a little bit different than a standard hotel and I was very impressed. The hotel is ideally located a little bit away from the main part of the city - about 15 minutes walk - but is right next to the harbour. My room looked right over the water and it was lovely being able to stroll out to watch the boats at any time of the day or night.

The rooms are all individualised and very comfortable. The bathroom has heated floors and my room also had a little sitting area looking out over the water. Everything was clean and the mini-bar was well stocked, although I did not use it.

The staff were incredibly helpful but not overbearing. There is a small 'cafe' downstairs which does coffee and can provide breakfast as well.

Stayed for 2 nights over New Year and loved the place. Allan has done a great job in creating something different. If you enjoy the big brand hotels (read buffet breakfasts and crowded "lounge bars") then this hotel is not for you. But if you enjoy boutique hotels with attention to detail and a personal visit - then I would highly recommend this. Good location with easy access to waterfront and local restaurants/cafe's and bars.
