“Pleasantly Surprised”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 September 2011

Stayed for 5 nights in a 2 bedroom cabin - the decor is dated but perfectly clean and very well equipped. Excellent air conditioning. Excellent location to walk to Cable Beach, town tourist bus stops right outside the door and runs every 1/2 hr. Pool well kept and clean. Compared to everywhere else in Cable Beach the rate per night was reasonable. Biggest disappointment was the sour faced rude young girl at reception - she was fast and efficient but unable to make eye contact or even smile. I would however stay here again without hesitation.

“Great cabin and caravan park right on the beach (across the road)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 September 2011

This is not a fancy pants resort, rather a very well-located and serviced holiday park with cabins and caravan/tent areas. We stayed in a 2 bedroom cabin for a week, with full kitchen and laundry, great-sized verandah and loved it. The cabin was spacious with a living area with 2 lounges and a small dining table closer to the kitchen. Many a lazy afternoon was wiled away with a few beers on the verandah watching the odd roo jump past, listening to the bird life and greeting passing neighbours.

The Cable Beach shop is right next to the park (with great coffee and hamburgers, free chips on Tuesday!), and the fantastic Divers Tavern and bar just across the road. The main road doesn't get a crazy amount of traffic and there is not a huge amount of noise that I could discern or found annoying in any way.

Cable beach, the quieter section further away from the Cable Beach Club, is just across the main road (walking over some awesome large dunes). If you prefer lounges to bumming on the sand you can walk down a short strech of beach to the Beach Hut and grab 2 lounges with umbrella for about $25 for 4 hours.

The reception staff are lovely and helpful, as were the cleaning staff when we wanted our towels changed.

The pool is not huge but it's clean and enough for a dip and lazy paddle in between visits to the beach.

The park has a really nice atmosphere, with some longer-term as well as shorter stay visitors.

We'll be back.

“the most rudest place to stay in cable beach”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2011

the resort is located in one of the most nicest spots in cable beach but tho are others as well...besides that the campground has not much to offer, it is pretty much unshaded so the guarantY of getting up with the sun in the morning is given, either u like that or not. bathrooms and kitchen are pretty clean and nothing so far got stolen. NOW the big BUT this place is runned by the most rudest management i have ever met so far on my trip through australia. i dont belong to a noisy or annoying crowed of backpacker I pretty much just come here to sleep. if u enter the office you receive a sceptable look no hello or how are you. if you have questions they like to make you feel stupid or just dont try to be polite. I cant tell u if they just dont like backpackers and maybe are much nicer to the people who cam effort to pay more, but still I pay an expensiv ammount to stay in a tent (still cheaper as a hostel) so i deserve as well to be treated like a guest or customer. thia managment makes the stay here redicoisly painful, absolutely no familiar feeling and a place i want to call home. I hope actually that someone of the managment will read this and see a point in it that every human beeing deserves to be treated with respect i am sure themself as well!

“2 bedroom bungalow GREAT with laundry and full kitchen.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 May 2010

This was recommended by another caravan park. We were originally going to stay in our van, but decided to stay in the bungalows instead. Glad we did. The van park is REALLY crammed, but the bungalows are great! We're in a 2 bedroom bungalow, which has a bunk bed in one room, a queen bed in the other, and 2 couches, tv and 4 seater dining table, plus an entertaining verandah. At $175/night it's the cheapest place RIGHT ON THE BEACH at Cable beach. Great location. Glad we stayed here! Shop right next door too. It's at the quiet end of Cable beach, and closer to the beach than the Pinctada resort!
We stayed here after our big trip along the Gibb River Road.

“Uptight!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 May 2010

We stayed a few times at Palm Grove in Broome - once with our Caravan - and although once we got the Caravan parked it was OK we found it difficult to park as the bays were really close together and the road between the bays very narrow - you might need to look at the site before you accept it - some are OK but many are really tight.

I also got a bit put off as when we were checking in one of the staff was loudly having a go at another poor lady checking into a cabin with a couple of kids - they were paying something like $180 per night and this bloke was going on and on about how they should leave the cabin spotless when they leave, empty the bins, do all the washing up, sweep the floor - and make sure the kids don't wet the bed and that they wash their feet when they go to bed so the sheets don't get dirty. His attitude was horrible and I felt so sorry for that poor lady - I bet she wished she had never left home!

It put me right off - what do they think people are paying so much extra for - and anyway us mothers do not need to be told all that, what does he think we normally do all day!
