2nd time I went to Matsos last month, we were served by a male with brownish short hair, who kept disappearing near the bar or the plates area (with knives & forks, etc), we kept signalling him and he'd pretend to not see us, instead he'd talk with all the good looking female waiters.
Initially we waved him over, and he says he's busy with the plates, and says he needs to "grab his paper" to write the order down. Somehow he serves the table near us when they signal him straight away. We try ordering with another waiter, but they say only he can take our order. Like seriously...you have nothing to do in your area, yet you say we need to wait for our waiter who's lazily doing something else?
When both of us stood up and walked straight to the bar to order, we were told repeatedly by this male waiter that it was "table service only".
Well...let's see...you go to a restaurant to be served straight away. People go to restaurants starving, not to be asked repeatedly to "wait". And be told its table service only. Excuse me, but as a customer, if I'm signalling you multiple times and you pretend to not see me, I think its only fitting to go to the bar to place an order (there were NO customers at the bar either at that time).
(there are only 2 males, one who is bald - real nice, and the other with brown hair and blueish eyes). The brown short haired gentleman is the culprit.
Note that Matsos is great restaurant!! When specials like chilli mussels are there, its fantastic, and 80% of the time the waiters are really friendly and really helpful. The female waiters tend to be alot more helpful, always walking out to your table to see if you need anything extra.
There were about 4 occasions when I had bad times The other 6 times were good.
Also you may be asked to wait for a table, despite seeing empty tables inside. The waiters are somewhat slack and require you you to wait a good 10 mins before they give you a table. Again something they might need to work on. If you're lucky, the female waiters tend to get you a table quite quickly.
I hope that waiter doesn't tarnish Matso's reputation again! This has also happened to 4 of my friends visiting broome last month.
