We had a top quality meal at Number 8 last night. We arrived in Melbourne for a stopover late afternoon and ventured downtown to get a feel for the city. Having been advised that Southbank was the place to be we were spoilt for choice. In the end we opted for Number 8 as we could dine outside (a novelty for Brits in January!)
The food was amazing: a light mozzarella tart and whiting with pine nuts and lemon sauce for me, tiger prawns (best ever) and tooth fish with truffle risotto for my husband. Then we shared a dessert plate. This was great as unlike other venues that offer this, you get to choose which desserts you have. Wow....
Having set out intending to have a simple meal we may well have had the best meal of our 3 week trip!
