1st visit with kids (I know, what were we thinking?) was brilliant. After discussion with the friendly & accommodating staff we arranged for 4 adults & 2 kids to have the degustation menu & other 2 kids had choices off the main menu. They matched the timing of all meals perfectly, & all meals were magnificent!
2nd time around our booking was for 9.30pm but we weren't seated until almost 11pm! We were sent upstairs for drinks at Adelphi's bar - firstly at our expense, then offered free drink which didn't come as bar staff told us our table was ready, which it wasn't. Restaurant staff were apologetic & supplied us with a bottle (or 2?) of French champagne to drink while waiting in their seating area, but by the time we got to our table our decision-making abilities were impaired & we chose to have the degustation menu. We finished dinner at 1am & couldn't remember anything about the last couple of courses! Staff were lovely & never made us feel like we should hurry up, but if they had hurried up the earlier diners who didn't leave in time for our booking, we would have been happier.
We will go back again I'm sure, but not for the late sitting.
