I booked a 1 bedroom apartment at 32 Darling St it as a 'hot' special at $65 per night. The Darling Towers website advertises the room that I booked as a standard nightly rate of $140. If I had known in advance what the room is really like, I wouldn't even had paid $65.

The room was dated and musty smelling with strange stains on the carpet and the cushions. The glass of the windows had fallen down out of their frames, the glass shelf over the bathroom basin was cracked. The walls had damp and mold issues, the bathroom mirror and both sets of curtains had black spots on them. (I believe it was mold). If you have any aspiration issues, I wouldn't spend anytime in this room (11)

The shower had a severe case of water hammer, had mold and the drain was partially clogged.

I blame myself, the offer was too good to be true, the room was an unhealthy dump I pity anyone who spent $140 for that room. If you are planning to stay here, please ask to see the room before handing over the money. And bring ear plugs, the property backs on to a train station, from 5am onwards there seems to be a train using it's horn every 5mins. The older style property does not have any sound proofing.

you can expect all wrong things happening to you when you book a flat at darling towers apartment...whole company runs like on don't care philosophy....recepetion doesn't know what reservation is doing and online website people doesn't know what description they are writing...you will book online choosing a property by looking how close it is from public transport and all and once you go there you will find you have been "upgraded" to some place in desserts which kms away from public transport....then you will get wrong keys to the property and then rooms are dirty ...then you will be placed to another property ....choice is yours .,.keep changing the cabs or walk having your luggege on your head.......

if you are on an adventure trip to melbourne this will suit you with all surprise ..if you are there for some fun and business STAY AWAY..........

My husband and i stayed here (85 Caroline St) for 10 days. Location was very good, with easy access to cafes, restaurants, train station and chapel st. Facilities also good. Free parking, washing machine and dryer and basic kitchenette. The bed was comfortable too. However the apartment had a shabby, old feel. Dirty bathroom, and cigarette smells. Kitchenette VERY basic and therfore inaequate for our needs. Kitchen and bathroom needs refurbishment. I would not stay here again but investigate other properties in the area.

We have stayed at 32 Murphy street in a 2 bed apartment from the same owners and found it very good value, but 343 Caroline street is a DUMP!

The bath was discoloured and had peeling paint on it, the shower head was broken, bathroom floor was filthy even afer a maid came and rearranged the mud, TWO light bulbs were blown, the kitchen was grubby and shoddy, furniture cheap and the PLASTIC 'wood' was peeling off the coffee table; the location is great but 4 star? Our mattress had a spring sticking out of it too! They're kidding themselves! I would not give this grubby, badly worn place ONE star!

Never again, I just don't trust them any more!
