My husband and I stayed at this hotel for four very enjoyable nights over Christmas. The location was superb with shops, department stores and restaurants all close by. We arrived at the hotel very late so were happy to see that there was a small grocery store on the next block and we were able to buy enough groceries to stock the fridge for next morning's breakfast. The apartment itself is spacious and well-apportioned. The kitchen has refrigerator, microwave and hot-plates - although with so many great restaurants around we only ever ate breakfast in the apartment. There is a combination washing machine-dryer but (unless I was doing something wrong) my clothes never really got dry.
Location, cleanliness, staff efficiency, kitchen facilities - basically there was nothing to fault and I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in the vibrant Chinatown district of Melbourne city.

Can cost you a future in parking fees and don't expect to be checked in straight away you may have to take a seat and wait, not very good customer service

Our family with 2 small children were more then comfortable in a 2 bedroom apartment. No views from our rooms but we didn't mind as we were out and about every day. The rooms were very clean and tidy and met all our needs. We really appreciated the washing machine and dryer and kitchenette. The showers were the best I have ever used in a hotel and the bed more comfortable then my own! Kids loved the spa bath too. It's a very private hotel and quiet at night. Plenty of great places to eat and it's only a short walk to the Bourke street mall, trams and trains. Our 2 and 4 year old managed the footpaths and distance easily. There is an indoor pool which was nice and warm and some gym equipment which we didn't use. The staff were overall pretty helpful and always available when we needed them. They held our bags for us on our last day which was very helpful. Just watch out for the breakfast cost though. It's $9.95 for a very plain selection of toasts and cereals. Much cheaper to pop to the 7 eleven and buy something to store in your room. Overall great spot if you want to be close to the action without all the noise and traffic. Would recommend to anyone.

Checked into the Punthill on Little Bourke for a night out in the city. Was happy with the central location.

However, in the middle of the night our smoke alarm started beeping incessantly. With none of the contact numbers manned overnight, and the smoke alarm caged we had a very long night with absolutely no sleep.

We called reception as soon as they were open to have the alarm fixed - not only did the hotel refuse a refund, they also did not offer us breakfast. The best we could get out of them was a late check out. Very disappointed and will not be staying again.
