Paid for 3 Studio corner suites to ensure fabulous Melb CBD views.
Asked at the time of booking for rooms with guaranteed views as was 'a special occasion'
Booked well in advance and got the rooms at discount...was this a good move??
Two were on floors 11 and 12 with good broad views BUT the third on 5th floor = no view, just upwards at the CBD high rise to the NE ..nothing to the NW or West and no broad nighttime view...we felt very embarrassed and sad for our guests!!
Surely advance booking shouldn't incur a penalty on the floor height.
Idea: Why not offer the Studios without great views at a sliding discount based on height?
Everything else was great, really... staff at front desk and concierge were first class and friendly, even spoke in clear English!!
Another positive: Got early access to one room..much appreciated after getting up at 4am to catch the flight down that was nice, thank you.
Rooms very clean and well appointed but at normal $700+/- a night you'd expect they would be.
Location is really unbeatable imho, and all in all its a VERY good modern hotel.
Damn it..we had such a good time in Melb as usual .....but this took the edge off our stay..sadly.
Really ..whats it take to keep the booking together.
Apparently something.
Would we stay here again you ask. Well we >>would<< definitely stay here in future but it wont be in a premium suite/studio...why? because they refuse to guarantee the room level, no matter how far you book ahead..Very sad. Oh well it is 2012 after all.
