As the name applies this is an apartment hotel in the middle of Melbourne CBD and the pricing are accordingly not low.
House keeping seems a little slow. I arrived at 1300, I was told room will only be ready at 1400 and it was almost 1500 before it was ready. Most high class hotel I came across lately try to accommodate early comers, especially if very close to official check in hour (1400).
Location is excellent, 5-10 min walk from federation square, lots of restaurants and cafes close by and a small commercial center with a cinema on the other side of the road from the hotel.
The apartment/room is very nice. Done in a "New-York" loft sort of way (hence the name "Manhattan") . My room which was a one bed room apartment had a large living room with sofa, eating table and an "office corner", kitchen (quite large actually), with all appliances and utilities, a separate bed-room and a big bathroom with a shower/bath and a washer/drier. The ceiling is bare concrete as befits a loft. Wi-Fi is very expensive (18$ a day) if you use it.
The gym is very small and basic and maintenance of equipment is not top notch. pool is nothing more than a puddle. If you need a jog the royal botanical gardens have a 4-5K running track surrounding them which is much nicer.
This is a nice place, I believe if able to afford it an excellent place for business men in town for a week or two but good for tourists as well.
