This hotel had been recently been renovated but with no pictures on the plain walls appeared very stark and bland. (To be fair they may have just finished painting and had not got around to replacing them.) The roller blind did not work so you had to hock it up to get light into the room. However, the hotel gave good value for a major city. The staff were helpful and friendly, clean, comfortable rooms and a good restaurant on site.

We stayed as were attending a wedding close by and it was cheaper to get a room than pay for a taxi to and from Doncaster.
This is not your high end luxury hotel and it does not advertise to be, but it was clean friendly and execllent value for money. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable and we had no complaints.
If you are looking for a city bed for a few nights it is well worth it, we will be staying again...

A one night stay after visiting the casino and AFL footy match. The service at reception was friendly, but unfortunately overshadowed by the awful state of our room. A large crack in the brickwork, a substance smeared on one of the bed sheets, and some sort of gelatinous mass in the middle of the floor (probably a food source for the large cockroach we found in the bathroom the next morning) was overlooked as our heads and bodies suffering from the day's festivities just fell into bed. Not worth the money!

I have just arrived back from a 4 night stay at this hotel as a group of my friends and I were attending the grand prix and I am extremely delighted with our stay.
When we arrived our two rooms that we booked were not on the same floor.. within 5 minutes they had arranged our rooms so they were directly across from each other.
I couldn't have been more impressed with their hospitality.
They were so friendly and helpful when suggesting where to shop and calling taxi's for us.
It is also in a fantastic location - a short walk from albert park and the tram and 2 doors up from a delicious pizza deli and pub.
The rooms were spacious but modest. Perfect for a short stay and we were given clean towels everyday and the whole room re-made even when it wasn't neccessary.
We will definately be staying here again for Grand Prix next year.
