I travelled with my 16 year old son and this hotel was central to everything. Although on Flinders Street noise could not be heard at all and we had a good nights' sleep. Breakfast was available but we found there were so many cafes nearby and cheap meals were easily found. The trams and station were so close we were able to go wherever we wanted and without any trouble. The room was spotless and serviced daily and I would definitely stay here again at $99.00 per night.

“Great central location in Cbd”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

My husband and I (late 20's/ early 30's) stayed for 1 night on new years eve. We found check in very easy and was surprised when we eventually opened our room door to see quite a large room. It's not overly modern but clean and in good condition. The bathroom was quite large too. Bed comfortable and had a little mini bar too. Overall we would stay there again if we got a good rate. We paid 220 including breakfast which I would say don't bother as de graves at is literally next door and has great cafes and the food is grab unlike the lobby continetal breakfast that was on offer. The location is fantastic. As you are right opposite flinders st station to get the train and the tram stop is in front of the hotel too.

Mattress in bad shape (condition), rooms with no windows, ordinary breakfast with not many choices and same breakfast menu for four days in a row, it's not a sign of 4 star hotel at all

Room Tip: Pay more to get a room with city view

“Not impressed!!!!”

To start with we got given the wrong room. I didnt want single beds specifically when i asked for a king bed. The bed side lamps didnt work when i enquired about getting new bulbs the front desk staff were very rude and kept implying the reason why they weren't working was the key card wasn't in the slot by the door. This wasn't the case. On the TV it had a welcome mesage but an incorrect name.
When the lift door opened on our floor it wasn't aligned properly and we had to decend 2 feet quickly as it was still moving upwards. The next day we overheard people who got stuck in the lift for a few minutes. Coming back from New Years we just wanted to get to bed and our card didn't work.

“Fine for an overnight visit if you don't need internet access”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

I stayed for one night on a work trip and booked an expensive room at the front. The location is very handy if you need to be central. The room was quite nice but very oddly there was hardly any hanging space in the wardrobe. if I had been travelling with my husband or staying for more than one night it would be been useless. The check-in staff weren't very welcoming. Trying to get an answer from staff about the availability of breakfast (information in the room is misleading) was like pulling teeth. The big downside is that the internet access in the room is hopeless. I noticed that the price for internet was lower than most hotels and presumably this is because it keeps dropping out. I had a number of work emails I needed to deal with and it took over an hour for what should have taken twenty minutes; late at night this was not appreciated. When I rang down staff just told me that they had problems with the internet and didn't apologise. If it hadn't been late at night I would have gone out to an internet cafe.

Room Tip: I don't think I would advise anyone to go for less than the front room that I booked
