“Never Again”

We just spent 5 nights in order to attend the Aust open. We only got house keeping once in the 5 nights which was not good enough for what they call a 4 star hotel. Too much noise from the streets to sleep properly but can honestly say that the beds were the most comfortable that I have ever stayed in. They advertise that MOST of the rooms have floor to ceiling windows - rubbish, this is the thing that sold it too me the most and I rang last week to check on the accommodation and was told that they will see what they can do. The young 'lady' at the front desk needs to be a little more customer orientated or get a new job. The reception has tiles and steps not good for older people. Mum slipped over when we were leaving and only a vistor came to her aide, staff did not even asked if she was OK or came to her aide. By the way she is not OK . The older gentleman with bead was nice. But I would say forget this place would rather pay a 'little'extra and stay somewhere else.

“Don't bother!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 December 2011

Me and 6 of my mates travelled interstate for a music festival, had booked in to stay for 4 nights. On the 2nd (friday) night we where there we went out come home and went to bed. Got woken up several times by other people running around the hallways and door knocking in the early hours of the morning. 3rd day the day of the festival we woke up and started having some drinks before the festival and noticed someone from another room had thrown a chair onto a buildings roof next door. At around 2pm we got the reception to order us a mini bus at 3pm. That time had come and at 3.10pm we got a call from a manager named alex blaming us for throwing the chair off a balcony, running around the hallways door knocking and damaging the walls and got blamed for damage to our rooms, they said if we did not leave within half an hour police where going to escort us from the complex. Before we handed our keys over, i walked around with my phone on video mode to prove that we had all four chairs in both rooms and couldnt find any damage in either rooms or the main hallway. We phoned the manager and asked to see the video of us supposedly doing the above actions, he did not even try to get the video to prove it, the receptionist was not helpful at all with the situation. For a fact all six of us did not do it because we had saved up for 6months and had planned for this trip, choosing quest as a nice hotel company to stay with. Once kicked out there was only rooms in the city worth 1500 plus a night that sleep 2. We all had to sleep in a nearby carpark for the nights like a homeless people when it was 8degrees and very breezy. Woke up the next morning found a new hotel malino apartments 8 Franklin st. The service was good and thr receptionist informed us that she has had over a dozen different people rang up with same problem but also from crowne. Me and my mates have sworn never to stay at quest ever again and would not recommend it at all. This had ruined our whole weekend and don't even think we will ever come down to Melbourne again because of this. Jack Upstill NT

“Definitely stay again!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 November 2011

This hotel certainly exceeded my expectations! I would say that every aspect of this hotel impressed me and a very friendly receptionist (one of the best I've ever come across actually - unfortunately don't remember his name) was a great start to an almost perfect stay. We were also unexpectedly upgraded to a beautiful room with more than what was needed provided and of great value. It was in a great location and everything we needed/wanted was in a small walking distance. Only one small thing to complain about was being woken up fairly early by the garbage trucks below on the first night... which can't really be avoided or changed. Upon my arrival and shortly discovering how great of a value our room was, I immediately expressed my happiness via various social networking sites and friends who visited were also very impressed! It made my trip very pleasurable and i do plan on staying there again. Once again like to mention the friendly receptionist who seemed very interested in what i had to say, he works on Thursdays if that helps...give him a raise! (haha) I'm not a very fussy person but honestly didn't expect this kind of luxury from what i had paid. Definitely recommend staying there!

“Excellent Location, next to Chinatown!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2011

We had a 2 bedroom executive apartment for 4 nights in November. We were located in the newer wing and the apartments were clean and well furnished. Apartment was serviced daily except Sunday and staff were attentive and helpful. Parking was full but they had arrangements with the nearby Wilson Parking for parking at $25 per exit. We could park there for four nights for that flat exit fee. Get around Melbourne by the free tram and shuttle! Being next to Chinatown and the Bourke street shopping area was a definite plus as well!

“Good for work or pleasure”

I've stayed here a number of times for work, and also stayed on for a few days break. Location is great, easy to get to - under 5 min walk from Flinders St station. From the airport you can catch the skybus to Spencer St Station and walk 10mins, or the Starbus for about $3 extra and get dropped at the door.
The self catering apartments are a home away from home with plenty of space for gathering with friends or for a meeting in the lounge.
If you have a group, then the 2 bedroom loft apartments are really great value - you can sleep 6 easily and 7-8 with fold out lounge and the high ceilings make the lounge feel even more spacious.
Lots of great restaurants nearby, and the Postal Hall cafe downstairs is a little gem, with truly quirky owners who serve great snacks and lunches.
