“Great Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment with another couple and found it to be comfortable. The open plan living area was great and made up for the ill-designed bathroom situation. Where 1 room had an en-suite the secondary room you had to walk all the way through the living area to get to it. Didn't really bother us, but it was an unusual design. The apartment had everything we needed.

The location is awesome, short walk to Crown and the many restaurants on the Yarra. Also a 7 minute walk to the DFO in south wharf for great shopping. Downstairs was a good Italian restaurant, plus a convenience store and liquor.

Close to Eureka Tower (actually we had a fabulous view) and about 10 minute walk to the main shopping on collins street, etc.

Room Tip: Our apartment was on the 17 floor, good views of Eureka Tower

“Short Stay was a Oncer”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

On a recent visit to Melbourne, I stayed at 2 different apartment style hotels & Short Stay Apartments were certainly a disappointing choice after a good experience at the Mantra on Russell. Stayed with a business colleague & looked for a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment. We found our apartment had a very large master bedroom with ensuite, but a very small 2nd bedroom at 1 end of the apartment while the 2nd bathroom was near the front door on the other side of the master suite - quite an odd configuration. The 2nd room would have been OK for children, but not really for adults. The only TV was in the lounge, nothing in the bedrooms, and the greatest nuisance for the business traveller was lack of wireless internet. Furnishings in the apartment are sparse & cheap, including a quite barren kitchen in comparison to other similar properties. There is no reception area so you need to register & collect your key at the company's office which is not far but across a wide & busy road, & really inconvenient if you've arrived by cab & are dragging heavy luggage. The biggest selling point is proximity to the Convention Centre, but it is still a 10 minute walk, & lacks the convenience of being close to shopping and other attractions on the City Centre side of the river. All in all, a fairly souless building in an indifferent location, quite expensive considering they only tale longer bookings & don't service daily and I probably wouldn't stay there again.

Room Tip: There are several different towers in the same street that are all part of the Short Stay group. It...

“Clean, quiet and convenient”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

We had a two-bedroom apartment on the 19th floor for a family of four for four nights

We were told to contact the office 10 minutes prior to arrival so someone could drop off the key. I called but no one was there to greet us. However, their other office was across the street so it was a minor inconvenience but I actually thought the gals in the office were just a bit too lazy to make the trip themselves.

The building appears very clean and modern. The foyer is nice and we found the concierge helpful when we needed travel advice. The elevators were very quick.

Our room was immaculate and all of the kitchen equipment and appliances appeared to be new.

We never heard anyone else on our floor nor in the floor above. It was extremely quiet.

The beds were comfy and the showers and water supply was fine.

Climate control was a bit of an issue. There is a reverse cycle air conditioner in the living room. The bedroom was a bit warm for my liking even though we ran the air conditioner and left the door open. I opened the window and let in the night air but it just was a bit noisy with traffic noise. If we had a fan to draw in the cool air from the living room I would have been perfectly happy.

The location was great and an easy walk to Southbank, the Casino and Flinders train station.

“Spacious Apartments, Fully contained”

Went to melbourne on a leisure trip with 5 other friends, hence we booked the 3 bedrm apartment. The place is exactly as shown in the photos on the website.
Very spacious, modern contemporary furnishings, self-contained with all the necessary amenities like washing machine, dryer, kitchen with cutlery, pots, pans, wine glasses etc.
Location is just a street away from crown casino, about 10-15 mins walk away to Melbourne City area.
Would definitely recommend this place for people travelling in groups or require a place to stay for longer period of time.

“Nice place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 November 2011

Stayed with a large group in 2 different rooms. The rooms were on 2 different levels and no access could be gained to the other level which was super annoying.
The concierge staff were unfriendly and rarely acknowledged you as you entered or left.
The lifts here are very efficient. Never have to wait long at all. Very nice and clean rooms however a tv in the bedroom would be nice too.
It's right near the casino so getting a cab is simple at all times.
Would stay again.
