We stayed for 5 nights at the Whiteman street apartments. Excellent location, short walk to Southbank and the restaurants. tram stop to St Kilda outside. 2 bedroom apartment was spacious and clean. Great views. Would come back again

there are several apartments in this group. our group of 4 professionals were in Melbourne for a meeting at the convention centre and stayed 3 nights at the deluxe apartments at 163 Whitman Rd. Generally we were underwhelmed. Checkin is a few doors along and took 25 mins. We could not get 4 keys which was a nuisance. There is a doorman some of the time but no concierge service so getting a taxi not easy. The tram is however outside and good, once one sorts out the tram system and gets tickets ahead of time. Not far from the convention centre which is a plus, but still 10 min walk . No restaurants or cafes very close; a grocer around the corner.
The apartment was not very comfortably furnished, the kitchen lacked lots of gear and the master bedroom had a tiny bathroom with no space for toiletries. No deluxe about it. Views from bedrooms good but living room dark and looks into another building. Took 6 phone calls to get any service for the air conditioning. The cleaning of the apartment was very ordinary.
Others from our group were in the same building and had a similar view about their apartments.
we would not stay again, especially as our 3 bedroom apartment was expensive. Similar apartments in Brisbane, Adelaide and Sydney have been much nicer and less expensive.

My partner and I always stay at one of the Crown casino properties when we travel as a couple so when we booked our family holiday we wanted to stay in the same area as we always enjoy our time in this part of town. We booked the three bed/two bath apartment and it was amazing. Plenty of room for all of us in a great location with excellent facilities. Having a full kitchen was handy with the kids there as well as the laundry. If the rooms were serviced daily that would be perfect - I hate washing towels at the best of times and the kids made great use of the awesome pool so we went through those provided (there were heaps) quickly. There's a tram stop right out the front and the free City Circle tram is only a very short walk away. The view from the room was fantastic and we'll definitely be staying again. At least next time I won't have to deal with Skybus seeing as Short Stay can arrange airport transfers - we didn't realise Skybus didn't take people to this apartment which wouldn't of been a problem except the "lady" working there went out of way to be rude and nasty about it. So I highly recommend the property, you won't regret staying there.

We booked through wotif and got an awesome deal, $169 a night. The booking was for a one-bedroom apartment with no balconey, but we were upgraded to a two-bedroom, two bathroom, HUGE apartment with a balconey - bonus! It was soooo great having two rooms as we had our 18 month old with us, so he had his own room *yay*! Clean, modern apartment fully stocked with everything you need for a self-catering stay - gas hobs, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. Bed was super-comfy. Great floor-to-ceiling windows. They provided washing powder / dishwashing liquid/3 tea towels and cloths, perfect! The view was fab, loved being in the midst of the city, and our wee boy was very entertained by watching all the cars driving around!

Staff were great and very helpful. Pool was sweet. Location perfect - tram stop across the road, easy walking distance to the city and to South Melbourne market. Huge DFO mall less than 10 mins walk along the gorgeous riverside (dirty river tho!)

Will def stay again!
