“Clean and organised, but noisy!”

I didn't know that St Kilda is the Kings Cross of Melbourne, and if you're a bit wary of unsavoury characters, then this hotel is not for you. The hotel itself is wonderful, lots of room in our studio apartment, clean, modern with pots and pans. The can opener broke, but oh well. The only problem was the noise. The ceiling did not dampen any of the upstairs happenings, from stomping feet, to water pipes and inconsiderate guests staying up until 3am blathering on about meaningless drivel. If you stay at sixty-two on grey, then get a top floor room!!! And be careful going out at night.
Go to the bike cafe on corner of Barkly street and st kilda road. They do awesome poached eggs.
Also, there is no reception, so if you need to leave your bags, then contact the owner a few days before and she is really helpful.

“Great”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 February 2011

Sixty-Two on Grey took us in at short notice when our son and daughter in laws flat flooded. We were able to book in immediately and found the 'self service' check in (and out) easy. We had a studio round the back which was lovely and quiet so sleep quality was good, there were windows right along the front with one way blinds. It had its own decking with table and chairs so the first thing we did was sit in the sun and have a coffee! There was both broadband and WiFi access though we had to stand outside just to log in! The room was bigger than others we have stayed in on our trip, very clean, comfortable with a nice shower room. If we ever need taking in again we'll be back!

“Ideal Setting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2011

The accommodations were fist rate mod Oz. styling. The self check-in process was easy to navigate despite the near midnight arrival. The Studio was more than sufficient for a single traveller with comfortable surroundings for a week’s stay. The large bathroom was a pleasant surprise. Complimentary internet service, but no Wi-Fi. The St. Kilda neighbourhood was astir for the festival, but quiet living enjoyment was not sacrificed. There was relatively easy access to other areas of Melbourne by tram, approximately 20min trips.

“Loved the room, great value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 December 2010

I was pleasantly surprised by Sixty Two on Grey - we booked it off a last minute website so got a discounted rate and didn't know what to expect. The room was awesome - the bed was comfy, the layout was good, bathroom was very nice and I really loved the little sun-room at the front - great spot to sit and people watch.
There is no on-site manager (which is all explained when you book the room) and we were emailed details about how to access the hotel and room. We were also given a phone number to ring just in case there were any hitches. We didn't have any problems though.
Great place, hope to go back one day.

“Pleasant, clean, good position, good price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 October 2010

We stayed at Sixty Two on Grey for two nights and found the accommodation perfect for our needs. It was easy to walk to the end of the street to catch a tram to the city. The apartment was very clean and nicely decorated. It had everything you could need including a small kitchen, a nice balcony and free broadband. The Manager does not live on the premises but access is made very easy by clear instructions given before you arrive. We stupidly left a bag behind in the apartment and then locked up and put the keys in the drop box. After ringing the office we were able to gain access again within 5 minutes to retrieve our bag. They were very helpful. The price was very good for a city apartment. Lots of nice restaurants nearby and a good supermarket.
